Techniques for removing front bumper?

Now I have removed the front bumper at least 5 times. However, every time I get to the part where I have to unhook the clips from the headlights, I’d have major trouble. I tried to not yank it hard cuz im scared of breaking it, but it gets so difficult to pull it out. Everytime I pull it out it gives me a heart attack

So was just wondering..do all of you experience this? Or you guys have a few techniques and wanan share it with me

My experience has been pretty similar. I try to hold on to as much of the bumper as I can, to give it structural support. It's more likely to "rip" if you hold only a small part of it when you're pulling.

It helps to do it in one smooth motion. There are 8 clips, so just count the "clicks" that you hear as each clip disengages. I doubt that we could do serious damage to the bumper shell, as it's pretty tough plastic.

I broke one clip on each side on my first try.
LOL.

I think imma buy that "Bitch clip remover" from heel toe though. That makes one part easier.

Actually taking off the bumper sucks. We should ask defconskylude, he probably takes his bumper off the most!

I kinda just yank from one side first and then go to the other side and yank it and slowly progress to the middle.

Hahah, I don't think defcon even puts his clips on anymore as he takes it off regularly. Or he does but just not all of them

Do you have to have an account or something to access this? Or is it just this computer I'm using overseas....

He doesn't. LOL. But we wanna ask him about removing the bumper from the clips, which is the only thing keeping his bumper on....

yup i dont have any clips or screws held on right now. sometimes ill just use the clips for the grill area but thats about it.

in regards to yanking off the headlight area, i take off two clips first from the wheel side. then i just use one hand in the mouth area under the grill and one hand on wheel side and yank it off with medium force. i havent broken a tab yet.

isnt it not safe tho, if theres no clips holding it in?

and i do what defcon does. unclip the side, then push from inside the grille and the side, but its still hard for me haha. but i have not broken a tab yet lol

and for those who want to work on the bumper..place the bumper on a TOWEL. i placed it on a box, front of the bumper on the box (i was changing the lower grille that i snaped, thanks to pbhak002 for the lower grille ) now the front of my bumper is scuffed up, along with the old marks from the licence plate frame holder.

LOL a tire hit it going down the interstate. The entire grill is warped, plenty of clips broke, a hole snapped, and yeah it just looks ugly.

Are you serious? you have a spare one?

Pain in the ass.

If you find out the price and it's remotely reasonable, I'll pay for the shipping, LOL.

advice: do NOT do that. take ONLY as many as u can handle, cuz if the end if you cant handle it it'll just screw u over (speaking from experience). if i took less APs, i would've done better and have a higher gpa, then i'd probably be going to irvine or something. i thoguht my SAT score would coevr it, but they look at the gpa more...

and besides, it might sound good that u dont have to take those classes in college, but honestly, it might be better since u get to refresh on what you did. i finished calc early in my senior year and took a whole semester off of math, and when i got in college and took my math placement test, i was NOT put in calc right away cuz i forgot my math anal stuff...but really up to you, just do what you can handle!

and enjoy your prom and hc and what not, none of that sht in college. (which was good in a way cuz no need to pay for all that LOl)

Lol I'm fucked GPA wise.
I let some shitty shit fuck up my 9th grade GPA.
I thought my SAT scores would cover that too

I'm only taking the easy AP classes though, LOL.

damn. high school. do you what you can in high school, AP classes really arent the END ALL BE ALL they are made out to be...that being said a few here and there will still make your life easier. Some are more worth taking than others

AP english -> very few universities take these credits anymore, its an absolete class and a waste of time IMO

AP history -> good stuff, it will satisfy some GURs and save you a shitty humanities class

AP calc/physics -> now were talkin. youll definitely be ahead of the curve in college if you can conquer these

AP BIO -> definitely take it if you are going in to medicine but dont be sad if you cant, i got a 5 on my ap bio exam but i ended up re taking bio 1 and 2 in college because most medical/dental schools in my area wont take the AP credits. Keep in mind that while ALL universities will be fine with AP bio, medical schools will actually be upset you didnt take the course again...

but yeah enjoy high school, college is a whole new ballgame.

All of my AP classes are pretty legit. I'm taking mostly History and Science APs.

My school has some pretty legit APs...even APs you gotta walk to the college for!
