Since Acura has stopped production of the 2009 tsx sedan, does anyone know if there should be a good selection left in the month of June ?

 

I'm sure there will be non-tech manuals left.

My lease on my current vehicle is up June 18th, I was wondering about this as well.
I have talked to my salesman and he said he will be able to get what ever I want if I give him a month notice, I told him "Here is four months... I want a base MT in Polished Metal with Ebony interior". I will consider a few other exterior colors, but I have my heart set on a base MT with Ebony.

 

That's a bold promise considering the production situation and one I would never make. Maybe he was talking about 2010s?

 

He said they will be able to get one, even if they have to trade with another dealer. I hope he is right or I am just lucky... we will see when the time comes. I was at the dealer today having my MDX serviced and they had just about every color combo available with automatics and only one base black on black with a manual

I do not want black or silver, but will consider everything else as long as it has ebony interior and a MT.

 

I do not think there is any danger of dealer's running out of 09 TSX's. I went by the local Acura dealer today, and saw about 75 new TSX's. However, I only saw a few with MT's. There were tons of TL's, including about 10 new 08's. I assume that Honda knows they have enough TSX's already assembled to last a long time. The economic news seems to be getting worse every day, so there should be plenty of TSX's left in June. For whatever it is worth, I also went by the Lexus dealer today, and they had fewer IS's than they usually have in stock.

 

Thanks for your comments. I was thinking like cruiserchuck , there should be plenty of 09 left and even if a dealership has to do a dealer trade. The tsx I want isn't a rare trim or color. With the economy I didn't think cars were selling that hot. The reason I am waiting is because my job actually cut our salary for 3 months . That kind of hit hard. So I am waiting until my budget looks better and pay check is back to normal. Hopefully our state's budget will improve but I can't hold my breathe on that either. I don't plan to delay my car purchase any longer than June unless budget cuts get deeper.

 

Acura (and other car manufacturers) cannot sell cars these days...so, you will likely have plenty of selection IF the economy remains crappy (which is very likely).

 

I don't think anyone doubts that there will be cars leftover in June, you just may not be able to find exactly what you want.

 

Well, given Acura's simple option list (color, Tech vs. no Tech, MT vs. AT), it won't be a problem to find what you want. If this was a Toyota/Lexus, then yeah, it will tougher because the list of options is a lot longer.

 

Where are you located? Were you looking for a tech or base?

 

I live in the southeastern region and I will be looking for a polished metal automatic with tech package. I am hoping that our nearest dealership will be able to get me what I want.

 

Does anyone know when the 2010 tsx 4 cyclinder will be out?

 

There are a number of this combination with ebony or taupe in NC, SC, MD, VA. You are probably ok.

My dealer indicated they were expecting more TSX's in April.. I dont know if that was wishful thinking or a fact.. but it would certainly help your cause if its a nation wide thing.

 

There may be a few stragglers that were on order in Jan/Feb that haven't arrived yet, but that sounds pretty late to me.

 

Interesting. I did a search for base/auto TSXs in IL and found no dealers with any on order or in transit for all colors.

 

There are lots of AT here in Mcgrath Acura but only 1 MT

I am in Florida. I want base model, manual transmission, ebony interior. PMM or Basque Red are my first two color choices, but will consider anything except black or silver. I am not stressing about it, I still have my Odyssey van for 4 more months until the lease is up. I think I can even extend my Ody lease and get a 2010 TSX when they arrive.

I am sure Honda will be happy to extend my lease if needed two or three months. I do like the van still and don't mind waiting for the color if I have to. The only thing I thought of that I do not like about that is I will be out of warranty on the Ody if I go past June 18th.

 

Well, that seems to be a topic of some confusion. I have heard that we'll be ordering cars again in May. This would make the arrivals June-July(ish) for most of us. However, it's been posted elsewhere that they are due in showrooms in August. This would probably mean we order in June. I guess we'll know come May... if there are no TSX available to order, then August it is.

 

Collin, so do you think that you will ordering the 2010's in May? I know you can only guess because as we all know things change daily. I read somewhere also that 2010's were to hit showroom in August, but that could have been a rumor.

 

No I don't know. On one hand I hear we order in May, on the other hand, I hear the cars arrive in Aug.

 

i guess it's a waiting game. When will the pricing info be available?

 

Usually just before the cars go on sale.

 

Ok I was just curious. I still hope to get the 09 in June and don't plan to get the 2010.
