Sports shift rev matching?
So, I just read about rev matching for manuals/standards, and it was described that if you don't rev match when you downshift, there will be a slight jerk as the engine catches up to the transmission (or vice versa, I'm really a novice at this).
I have downshifted while in sports mode and I always get that jerk. It seems to me that it would be impossible to rev match with the sports mode, but at the same time there is that slight delay between pulling the paddle and the actual shift, so maybe it's possible?
This is probably a silly question, but I'm hoping it can spark some discussion. Everything I learned about driving standard I learned from Gran Turismo!

Uh are you talking about an automatic or manual? Neither auto nor manual in the TSX does rev matching. I think it would be difficult to do it yourself in the auto as the computer does the shifting, but in the manual you can do it if you're good with the throttle. I have a manual and if I downshift I usually hit the gas before I let off the clutch to kinda match the revs so I don't get the jerk. The lag you feel in the auto is the computer thinking about what to do....
I know the Nissan 370Z now has rev matching with the manual gearbox, but thats all I've heard about it.

I guess I won't downshift anymore when I have passengers.

If you're going to downshift, one thing I learned about autos is that you have to keep the throttle constant and not screw with it as the computer is trying to make everything work. If you play with the throttle like a manual as its trying to do its thing, usually things end up jerky. Step on it, keep your foot still, then hit the paddle. Once its shifted then go ahead and do what you want with the pedal. That seems to work pretty good on most standard autos.
Driving a manual TSX is a lot smoother than the auto TSXs that I've driven (I've driven 3 others). For some reason the auto is herky jerky and gets really annoying to me in normal city driving. I can work a gear change far smoother than the auto seems to do in the TSX.
