Spoiler

I am a new owner of the 2009 Acura TSX, and I was wondering if adding a spoiler on it would significantly improve the "head turn" appeal. I have a Volcano Grey TSX and thought that the OEM spoiler would kick up the back end a notch or two. Please send me pictures of the TSX with the OEM spoiler and if it would be worth the $570.00 that I have been quoted.

Thank you,

Cheeseus

Congrats and welcome to the forum.

Use the search function, (keyword spoiler) advance search to second generation TSX, and you will be able to see a number of threads on the subject.

Personally, I think the decklid spoiler looks better than the wing spoiler.

Are you a fellow Canadian? Not sure if you are from the Province of Ontario or Ontario, California.

I have the 09 TSX and just had the spoiler removed. Not my look but some do prefer it. I have it posted on Craigslist for $300. Colour is polished metal. I'd even be willing to let it go for $200 if we figure out shipping somehow.

Get some wheels, for $570 bucks the spoiler isn't going to turn any more heads than it does now.

Hey,

I really like the wing spoiler opposed to say the lip spoiler, I don't know what it is about it but I Just love the look of the spoiler but I have yet to see a clear picture of the Grey Acura TSX like mine with a spoiler. I really like my new car and I love everything about the TSX but I think the Spoiler would kick it up a notch. When you talk about Rims, I don't really think it is necessary with the rims it has, I am not necessarily looking for a "head turner" because lets face it, this car is already beautiful, I will reiterate what I said before the spoiler just makes it looks just that much better.

Thanks,

Cheeseus

Get whatever makes you the most happy. You can't go wrong if you do that.

I really like that, Even though that is the Accord from Europe (Which the TSX is the European Accord), does the OEM spoiler for the Acura TSX come with the break light or is that a non-OEM spoiler?

I have the spoiler on my '11 TSX, the wing comes with the 3rd brake light. Personal preference really. However I would say get some other stuff first. Like light swapping or rims, then the spoiler. Its nice though.

Thats the OEM spoiler from Canada, and its a Canadian TSX.

3rd brake light is standard on the OEM wing spoiler

I saw the OEM spoiler the first time yesterday on a white car it really looked good, it will look really good on the Volcano Grey. Rims would look good but personally I would rather not pay over a grand for a mod like that when it looks good as is. By the way the honda front end looks so good, how much did it cost to make it look like that?

I had an OEM wing spoiler put on my 1997 Honda Accord when I bought it... I thought it was a must for coupes. After 14 years, the weight of the spoiler prevents the trunk from staying open. And I can't take it off since they drill holes in the deck lid.

You would be advised to install stronger trunk springs, I believe Acura does this now but i'm not positive.

@Professor - You could always remove it, compound it, sand, blend, touch up paint the holes, or just replace the deck. Just a thought.

Acura definitely installed different trunk springs with my car since it came with the spoiler becuase now that the spoiler is off, the trunk flies open when I hit the release button on the key.

If anybody needs a wing spoiler in the Vancouver area PM me! I want to sell to recoop my losses getting the thing removed.

I really like the spoiler, when I pay if off and have some money in the bank, I will definitely get some nice rims and possibly even switching the back bumper. Even with everything stock this car looks so good so before I change something that already looks good I will have to shop around. I love the spoiler that is the only mod that I have really liked and continually wanted to add onto the car. If you could send me some pictures of the mods that you think look the best I will take it into consideration to figure out what I will want to do with my car in the future.
