So my DDM Tuning Kit Exploded [pic inside]

Well, i just got my new ddm slim kit, waited a fucking month for it due to shipping delay and its off to a great start. I had success with their kit in the past so i figured why not lets do it again. I followed the directions to the letter mimicking what other forum members have done (not on an acura btw) and hooked up the error cancellers and decided to turn em on to test em before i installed em. I hit the ignition and i hear a loud ass pop like a firecracker went off and it turns out that the error canceller piece fucking blew a hole and spewed out a ton of fucking feathers and acid. It was just my luck though that the unit was pointed towards the OUTSIDE of the car and it spewed its guts on my garage and not inside the car. What the fuck.

Exploded? Not enough Watts and K's. I don't think 55W 30,000K gives you that problem

i would not buy any HIDs from DDM. they have stated that they are changing their business plan and HID sales will not longer be a part of it. i don't know how they plan to handle the lifetime warranties they offered with the kits, but i know A LOT of people are having issues with receiving merchandise, whether it be new sales, or warranty replacements. even their vendors are having trouble getting in touch with them.

I have installed HID kits in the past as well, and the last i checked exploding isnt within normal operating conditions. Its pretty hard to mess up the install as there is pretty much only one way to install it.

By the way, they also recently switched to a new production style of slim ballasts with this most recent batch, the enclosure for the ballast is visually different from the last style, go ahead and take a look, and if you ordered recently you might have noticed that your order ships directly from China instead of the DDM warehouse

Its also possible i received a defective piece and you have no idea what the fuck you are talking about.

Relax man I'm just saying you probably installed the canceler wrong dont take offense. Something clearly wasn't right but for you to say don't buy ddm products is asinine

whatever batch they are sending now, at least the error cancellors, is suspect as far as i am concerned. i have a ddm kit in my other car and im happy with it, but out of the box these things looked kinda hastily put together with visible glue and stuff from the outside. I am hoping this was a one time issue for them or they can atleast offer a proper explanation for this

i just called ddm prior to placing my order on the website. apparently the talk about ddm going out of the HID business is bull, they are just simply shipping directly from china. previously it would ship first to san diego, and then to us, they are removing that middle step to let it happen quicker. and she said that processing takes 24-48 hours, and then 7-10 days to ship to jersey. everything is in stock and there is no backorder or anything. ordering my kits now =)

well, that is, if their shipping delay is over, they had a month long hiatus on regular orders up until now. not sure if its over or not but i had to wait a damn long time for the set i just got

i ordered mine at 4:25, so 1:25 their time. i got 1 email at 4:26 saying order acknowledgement. at 6:50 that my order has been packed, and at 7:04, i was provided with fedex tracking info. i ordered a slim kit with 6000k h11 bulbs, and replacement bulbs for my low beams, D2S 6000k's. took them less than 3 hours to pack it up and get it shipping ready. will update when they arrive. im still debating if i want to take the bumper off or if i rather work with less room using the entry flap's by the tires. its my first mod, and i wont be doing much more because its a lease, except maybe taking out the resonater

not an ignorant question at all,

do you mean with respect to the vehicle, or the application of the kit?

its for lows/fogs

fogs use the same exact bulbs as the lows so i figured id test it on the lows before i removed the bumper
