Dont waste your money unless you plan on keeping the car forever. And trust me...even if you think you will now....you wont likely keep it more than 3-5 years or so.

You may feel differently though. Myself...I feel its greatly a waste of money in most areas.

Skip it. My old car was a 99 Civic that we owned in the "rust belt" (bought new in Wisconsin, then moved to Ohio before coming to Tennessee); the car has seen it's fair share of salt and winter weather (about half the miles were put on in the rust belt before moving South, and even in Tennessee some salt appears on the roads in the winter) and the car has no rust issues.

Just wash it in the winter when the salt starts to pile on and it looks ugly, and you'll be fine.

If you really want to rust proof your car, you can get some chassis grease in spray and spray it inside the doors from the drain holes.

If you can lift your car, you can also spray black rubberized undercoating underneath the car. Will also marginally help for sound deadening, but I did it and did not notice anything substantial.

I read somewhere that rust proofing is not necessary anymore on these new cars. I had my 2004 TSX for 6 years before I got rid of it but it had absolutely no rust on the body except parts of the exhaust. I never had rust proofing done on that car.

Didn't acura switch to a water based paint on these new TSX's tho? That's what I heard, I could be wrong.

Not sure how that'll hold up to Northeast snow/salt in the long run. I do notice a lot of older acuras here are still fairly rust free.
