I own a 2013 TSX. Couple days ago I got the oil changed from my regular mechanic and yesterday I noticed that SEL RESET button has stopped working at all. I use it very often to see the trip details and oil life so I know it was always working before. I have tried unplugging the battery to reset everything but it didn't help.

Could the mechanic have accidentally unplugged something from the bottom while draining the oil? I am not sure where exactly the connector would be for that button, but that's all I can think of. Any expert advise will be appreciated.

Did you ever get solution to the SEL RESET button not working? I just got my tires changed and noticed the button not working. Same as you I never had a problem with button before.

 

Hi, I found the problem. I noticed that the mechanic broke the knob while trying to reset the oil life. I could literally pull out the knob completely. I put it back carefully aligning it with the broken piece inside. And the SEL RESET button started working again. Now I don’t touch the knob ever.

 

My reset button in the right gauge also broke. Shop told me you can do anything from the steering wheel that it can do.

Not sure if you can go the other way, and do it all from the gauge dial.

 

The only thing that the knob can do and not the buttons on steering wheel is the screen brightness. Just set it once to the desirable brightness and never touch it again.
