Saying my goodbyes...

Tomorrow I will be picking up a 2001 Prelude 5MT SH. It will be a sad day, in part because I am parting with my '09 TSX 6MT. I will definitely miss the AZine community and all of you guys: DerwoodEE, and even you clowns like Killer and Ed. You guys were the source of a lot of good intel before I purchased my TSX and after I had it, and I'm definitely appreciative of that.

Please spread the word to your friends on my non-tech '09 6MT so she can go to a good home. I have it listed in the classifieds as well as on AutoTrader.

The Prelude is practical for my situation right now, as I'm only driving a few miles a day. The fun factor should be good too, but I will surely miss the TSX stereo, four doors, HID's, and the curves and sexy CBP, not to mention the buttery-smooth clutch!

If money grew on trees I would keep both, but alas...

Cheers,

Best of luck.

I would like to have a Prelude SE if I was still single w/o kids. At least you are staying within Honda/Acura family. Do come back and check on the forum.

Thanks guys. Just got back from picking up the Prelude. Definitely not as flashy/nice as the TSX, but it sure handles like a charm!

I'll definitely be hanging out around this forum. So sad to part w/ the TSX....

Picked it up for $7k with just under 75,000 mi on the odometer. A steal if you ask me...

Needs about $750 worth of work due to noise in the rear shocks, but otherwise in great shape. Under the hood looks great, paint is still in good shape (although I'll prob eventually repaint it down the road), interior is immaculate, minus noticeable wear on the shift knob and steering wheel, which is expected of a 10yr old car...

No mod plans for now... need to sell the TSX first. Will probably throw an intake in there eventually. Definitely a FSTB and the headlights need some TLC. I need to pick up a headlight restoration kit at WalMart. Never used them before but I hear they work well.

I'll be sure to get some pics up this weekend.

Yep that was my situation. I bought out the lease on my TSX early because I want her to go to a good home, and I want to get at least some equity from the sale of it.

I think $23k for a base '09 TSX with under 20k miles on it is a reasonable asking price don't you? Especially for someone that babied it?

Noooo I just got here and your leaving? I'm not much of a prelude man, but I am in love with the TSX. Wish you could keep both though. At least your staying in the Honda family. But do stick around, you're very informative also.

Before you get the kit from Walmart wipe the headlights with a light wet cloth and some toothpaste. That should do the trick!!!

defcon, I love the chrome rings on the gauges; reminds me of the ones I installed on my '03 Maxima (that I should have never gotten rid of)...

Where'd you get 'em and did you install them yourself?

thanks

ya man it was a DIY project. when i was replacing my steering wheel, i decided to take out the gauge cluster apart, pulled out the rings, spray painted them silver and resealed them.

if i had extra money, id repaint my car GLM to match my CU2

hope all is well with you TSX'ers... admittedly, every time I see a 2nd gen on the road, a part of me dies...

I was... donno if I'd call him worthy but I did sell it. He was nickel and diming me about every little thing, when the car was pretty much immaculate.

Had only 19k on the odometer...

hey guys I know it's been awhile but thought I'd throw up some quality pics of my Prelude. She still needs a little work, but I've been doing my best to keep her clean.

PS I still miss my '09 TSX! A little bit of me dies each time I see one on the road... I've been checking in on the Zine to see what's good. Some good looking TSX's out there.

Thanks. Rides good! Stance is SUPER LOW, which was the hardest thing to get used to at first. If you've ever been in a vette that's how low it feels. On turns the SH is amazing.

I miss the TSX, but I drive 2 miles one way to work. The lude comes in handy for 100% city driving, although I'd like to take it further out more often.

No plans for it; need a tuneup though (new plugs, wires, PCV, etc.)

Car only has 77.5k miles on it...
