Review of UR Pulleys from Throwdown Performance

So here is my story of the UR pulley install and reviews of them on the car-

So me and a friend tried doing the pulleys ourselves. We took the tire off remove the splash guard and expose the crank pulley. Used the starter bump method. Worked like a charm 2 bumps of the starter and the pulley bolt came right off. So now on to the alternator. We go to take the alternator pulley off without removing the alternator from the engine because it was getting dark. We were trying to remove the 10mm nut on the outer most part of the alternator pulley shaft. Turns out the nut that should be removed to free the pulley is further inside the pulley and is about 10 times bigger than the outer nut i was trying to remove. Stripped the shit out of the outer shaft nut and said fuck it. Put the crank pulley back on with 100ft lbs of torque figuring it would get me home. Wakeup the next morning and bring it to a friends shop. We take the belt off then take the alternator out and remove the pulley off in 2 seconds with an impact gun, put the UR pulley on with no problem slap the alternator back in. Then we go to the crank and remove that, Put the UR pulley on that no problem. We go to run the belt that was provided from Throwdown and we ran it the way it came stock. After trying several different belts with no luck we realized that the routing of the belt is different with the UR pulleys. The belt has to go all the way around the bottom of the crank pulley, runs up to the water pump and then down to the AC compressor on the bottom, Then back up to the alternator around the idle pulley and then down to the tensioner. Im not sure if i explained that correctly lol but thats the solution. Anyone who buys the pulleys and has a mechanic do it im sure they will tell you the belt is wrong. It is the correct belt and needs to be run the way i described (if i described it correct). Make sure to tell the shop that it has to be routed different than stock configuration to avoid a phone call after your drop your car off lol.

So now the review. Car Runs so much smoother through the RPM's 2nd and 3rd gear pulls alot harder than it did before! It says it takes 5 days for the ECU to recognize the pulleys so i guess maybe im not feeling the full gains but wow what a difference! The Stock pulleys in comparison to the UR pulleys is amazing. The stock pulleys weigh a ton! GREAT Mod and recommend for anyone looking for some more smooth power and better throttle response. And of course buy them from mark at throwdownperformance.com hes a great guy and dealt with my bullshit calling him 9am this morning trying to figure out why the belt was wrong when in fact it wasnt! He really cared to try and resolve it with me. You dont find that anywhere but throwdown!

Will you be doing any dyno testing or do you know of any dyno test for the product / pulley you installed / reviewed?

Install was free for me. A friend of mine owns the automotive shop I go to. Took them about 2 hours though.
