Quick Nav question

With the new non-touchscreen NAV units, how does one go about entering the name of a street, POI, etc...? On the touch screen units, you typed the name on the screen. Does one have to use the jog-dial to get to each letter and then press enter each time?

I don't have a tech package on mine, but I'd have to say yes or you could enter it using the voice-activated system by just telling it the information. Hopefully someone with the tech package can chime in here soon and confirm this.

There are two ways of entering in street names.
Yes one way is telling the navigation system, via the voice-activation.
The other is by using the Jog dial. To do so you scroll though the alphabet. It is quite simple because it will automatically calculate the closest match to the street name you are typing.

I was playing with the nav on one at the dealership while my car was being prepped. The nav system is voice activated so I believe you can speak where you want to go, after you have trained the system. Any typing that needs to be done is done with the jog dial.
