Possible new 2012 TSX owner
Hi everyone:
Ive been a long time lover of Acura and have finally started to seriously take a look at adding a 2012 TSX Special Edition to my garage. I am currently looking at a 2012 special edition in white with 62k miles 2.4/5A... the dealer wants $17.5 for it. I think thats a little steep... I'm thinking closer to $15.5 tops; am I crazy in thinking this?
Also, what are some of the things to look at before I pull the trigger on a TSX? I was previously looking to get an 07/08 TL Type-S, but reality has smacked me in the face and thats why I'm looking at the 2012 TSX. I know they're two different cars, but I take it they follow a somewhat similar maintenance schedule.... i.e., timing belt/water pump at 7 yrs/105k miles?
I appreciate the feedback and any help you guys have. Like I said, I hope to have a TSX in my garage and become a regular visitor here!
Thanks
Luke

SE is the 4 cylinder so no timing belt - it's a chain. Which is a nice consideration.
What's your impetus for going after the SE if you're getting the autotragic tranny? You can get the slushbox in any year which will open up the trade space considerably.
Welcome, and happy hunting!

^ Interior differences and the already-equipped body kit? (hardly a kit)
When it comes to a car (especially used), I always look for the package that is most aesthetically unique.
I personally wanted the 6mt, but knowing my A-Spec/SE is different from every other 11-12 TSX kind of justifies it

Hmm. True. I dig the suede inserts in the seats.
I can see where you're coming from.

When shopping used I look for the best car regardless of equipment. Those can be added later. Your price looks to be high for a private seller and of course the dealer is always going to ask for for more. If it's really a good car, negotiate and you will be happy in the long run.

Was this private seller? Also, certified pre-owned?

Just recently got out of my 13 TSX-SE
Honestly it was a great car, kinda wish I got the manual but the automatic treated me very well.
I have nothing but great things to say about the car. Although since your buying preowned just make sure you check the brakes on the car and when you turn it on from a cold start that it doesn't make a weird clicking noise. Also check to see if the bluetooth mic in the car is functioning. Mine stopped working after it hit 30K miles and I would assume if it was not under warranty it would of been pricey to replace.
Anyway good luck!
