Nightmare

Last week I went into a home to give a quote and put a screwdriver in my back pocket. Got back into my car and punched a hole in the leather

Called the dealership and the leather to replace it is like $650.00 Fortunately there is a leather repair specialist that makes frequent trips to various dealerships in town. Hopefully she can repair it and it will cost $65-$125

I was so pissed and sad at the same time

After having the car for approaching two years now, I'm glad for everything to finally be working consistently. At least I never had the engine pinging though.

Sorry to hear about your nightmare. A similar thing happened to me: I was wearing a pair of shorts that have zipped back pockets. I'd forgotten to zip one of them back up and *scrrratch* there's still a huge scratch in my driver's seat leather about where the bolster is.

When I wear Levi's, the snap rivet on my right pocket *constantly* scrapes my steering wheel when trying to get my fata$$ out of the car.

Draconis, try going to car-part.com it's a consortium of salvage yards that post their inventory online. There's bound to be a TSX somewhere that got creamed by a freight train on the right side and has a good seating surface or seat back on the driver's side. They should be able to strip the seat and sell you the cover.

If you can't get any action, PM me and I'll make some calls for ya.

Thanks for the info. I was trying to find a website like that a few days ago. That is awesome. Now I'm tempted to get some replacement parts. We'll see how the leather repair goes today. Found a place on that site that has a whole new seat for less than new leather would cost

That sucks.

I took my car to Acura once for a blown speaker and the monkey sat in the seat with some kind of tool in his back pocket. Scratched the shit out of my centre console which Acura replaced at no cost.

That's lame. Good they fixed it though.

So the lady from the leather repair place can't fix it very well since it is perforated, but she referred me to a local car seat cover shop that would be able to fix it.

However, I called the company that was listed on car-part.com and found out that the seat came from a brand new TSX that got in a wreck. It only had 1,000 miles on it Poor owner, but good for me I was able to talk them down to the price the car seat cover place quoted the repairs would cost, and this way I can replace the cushioning as well. Joy. HeavyDuty, you're awesome. Thanks so much!

DUDE. i just got my car inspected, and the guy had a screwdriver or something in his back right pocket. same thing, minor perforation. i'm calling them tomorrow, but i'm sure they'll just deny it.

i even tipped the guy $5 for doing it so quickly, before i knew. darn it.

OMG, I would be soooo pissed. In my case I did it myself, so had nobody to blame but me. Haha. The service guy here in Tucson (Larry. He's amazing.) cringed when I described what happened.

I'm happy about the seat as I was wanting to replace the cushion anyway. I'm hoping it's a manual so I can buy some extra parts from them, haha.

Yay. Ordered the seat. Unfortunate the shipping of it was so expensive, but that's understandable since they're sending the entire seat.

Yeah, the shipping would suck, I wasn't thinking about the whole seat, but since you're getting it, I'd probably try to install the seat back heater into the passenger seat. =)

Ugh, I think this is what happened to me too. There's a small puncture on the front passenger seat. I noticed it about a month ago and was wondering how that even got there. I hardly have any passengers and I'm sure no one carries anything sharp on their back pocket. Of course, I could be wrong, but the most logical explanation is that it happened from a service tech.

Been a while since I've been on here. Changing that seat was quite the fun job. Pretty amazing how many wires and parts go into that seat. I'm very glad I was able to get that leather replaced.

Now my problem is the molding along all the windows has pretty much liquefied and they're not covered under my extended warranty. *Sigh*
