New TSX SE Owner!

So, I cant believe it. I have wanted a TSX since they came out in 04, but always worked for other stores (Lexus/Ford/Hyundai) over the years and got such great deals on those makes, or on trade ins, that I couldn't pass them up.

I have been out of the dealership (F&I Manager for almost 5 years) for the last 2 years and finally decided it was time to treat myself.

My 2010 Edge Limited was a company car with full personal use (in business with my dad) so that went to him for his new daily driver, and I decided to go back to a car.

Traded my 'baby' 03 Audi TT 225hp conv with 47k for a new '13 TSX Special Edition Consolidation at its finest lol.

I ended up getting them to locate one because I wanted white. I love it so far! I think it took me 2 days to decide auto or manual, but I ended up with an auto, i'm ok with the purchase thus far.

Picked it up last night, and as of this moment she has 137 miles I couldn't believe that they came so far off the sticker on it, and even for a locate at that, and I feel I got a great trade on the Audi.

So far.. I am HAPPY to say the least.. Now its getting tinted ASAP

Thumbs up

Nice! If I were to get a TSX it would either be a wagon or a sedan just like yours, White SE with auto. I won't be ready to buy for another 6+ months though, so I'm hoping I'll get lucky and have a 2014 just like yours.

Congrats! Enjoy!

Very nice...it's a neat experience to buy your car off a showroom floor

I am in the market for an SE and I can't decide between auto and manual either. Auto would be more convenient (easier in stop and go traffic + wife would be able to drive it), but 6 speed would be more fun (especially as smooth as the manual is in this car).

I was in the same boat, I drive in a lot of traffic for 1/3 of my commute, and my partner can drive a manual just fine (Audi was a 6 speed) but I am really impressed with the responsiveness of the auto.

This is my 2nd brand new.. I bought my "dream" car when I was 22 and it was a 09 Volvo S60 SE (right before they discontinued the S60 for a year. I traded my IS300 (fav car until this one I think.. TSX may take that title) I loved the Volvos because they were a little different, and the SE gave some cool wheels, interior trim, and seats. But overall, I definitely got bored with the Volvo. It had a $5,000 rebate at the time!

I'm really happy.. Kinda torn to get the lip spoiler on the trunk or not, and the sunroof visor. I may just stick with the tint and leave it though. I feel naked without blacked out windows right now.

6 speed is a lot more fun IMO, you'll be kicking yourself later especially if you owned a TT

Clean! Congrats. If I was able to pick all over again, I would definitely get white. Black is such a PITA to maintain

IMO, yes to the deck lip spoiler but no to the moon roof visor

Congrats on the car!

I like the deck lid spoiler and I'm happy I bought it. It accents the trunk nicely without really calling attention to itself.

So 627 miles and 6 days later, I still love the TSX I got 31 mpg out of my first tank (about 70% hwy) and i'm getting 28mpg with a good mix of city and highway so far on this 2nd tank.

Let me start off by saying-- I have never owned a car without tint, so I wasn't about to let this be the first one without...

I went with 35% again, I had 15% on my IS300 and my S60 a few years ago, but I figured with the white/black combo that they would look darker..

It looks SOOOO much better.

A good friend of mine is Andy who owns Accentz Window Tinting in Harrisburg, if you're in the area, google him. He usually schedules a month out but does great work for cheap.

Congrat JwesG! Looks sweet. I'm in the market for the same exact car. Will be getting a test drive this week. Would you mind letting me know how you paid for it? I'd just like to have an idea how much room I have to work with.

Thanks!

Congrats on the SE. White was my second choice when I bought mine but after spending 2 weekends (and $100 for someone to compound the finish to clean it up from winter) on my CPB, I have decided that I this will be my last black car

Regarding the auto/manual question, I love manuals and bought the SE because I could get it as a manual. For those weighing the options, I offer the following (click the full screen option to see it clearly);

I know I didn't get mine near as cheap a some people on here, but I got a full 2 grand off the sticker, so I think it was $30,405 minus my TT trade (which was a better trade in value then I thought) but I felt like the whole deal was petty decent because they didn't have the car on the lot, they located it and got it from Frankel Acura in MD.

Are you in my area? I know a few of the guys at Rahal Acura- I used to work for the auto group.

Took it on a 250 mile road trip over the weekend.. 34.5 mpg going 70-75 on the way down 15 toward DC and then 33.1mpg runnin 80mph on the way back.. Not too shabby.. It has 1200 miles now!

Taking it back home to KY (where i'm from) for this holiday weekend.. So that'll be about 1100 miles round trip.. we'll see how she does!

I almost kicked myself in the ass, because a friend that works at the store failed to mention to me that I could have gotten a base TL ($36,800 car) for $32,xxx... Shew.. If i'd have known that I would have upgraded! But I really cant pass up this fuel mileage at least!

The only thing other then tint that I have done/probably will do, was I upgraded the license plate bulbs to led's which really look sharp with the white car at night.. It looks so much better!

Thanks for the info! Nah, not in your area. I'm in NYC. Will be test driving one this week. But the dealer already sold the white one so only a black is available. White's my first choice.

White is always my first choice, but I've owned 4 black cars, so its probably my 2nd choice usually.. The red TSX's are freaking gorgeous in an SE so i'd look at one of those if I was you too!

Rahal (dealer close to me) has a beautiful black one too.

The black one all tinted out would be hot!

I wish they had never switched from PWP to BWP. I still like the look of the BWP, but I prefer more of an off-white than a pure white. Still looks good though

I am still shopping for a reasonably priced, pre-owned BWP or MR Special Edition within a reasonable distance from me. I check AutoTrader.com every day for new listings.
