New TSX owner

Last week I got a 2009 TSX w/tech, black on black and all I can say is wow, this car is a joy to drive. The navigation is great. All the voice commands work really well. The bluetooth works great with my phone. Streaming the music is awesome. I truly enjoy driving it. I had been putting up with a 2002 Malibu for the longest time. In the last month the starter, fuel pump, and the entire exhaust had to be replaced.

Welcome lopezpm. I too just got my 09 TSX in the last month. Actually its my 2nd TSX, I had a 2005 that I traded in for my 09. I used to buy Chevy all the time and after getting my first Acura, realized what I was missing all this time. I LOVE the interior, features, ride, looks, and reliability of the TSX and even would buy a third one in the future. Anyways, enjoy your TSX and you'll learn a lot on this forum as I have increased my knowledge from these guys/gals in the short time I was here so far. I am working on my 2nd and 3rd mods in the near future because of this site.

Thanks. I've been reading on here like crazy. I started reading before I decided to go with a tsx. I guess this site had an influence on me getting it. I think the throttle spacer will be my first mod and map lights tip maybe, don't like the yellow light. I do have a quick question though. Some guys on here have done a footwell upgrade. Does that mean that it comes with lights down there cause mine doesn't have any lights by the pedals only on the doors?

the footwell light is there, just extremely dim... people tapped into it and added an LED strip to be footwell lights

Ok. Thanks. I'll keep looking for the lights. I had all lights turned on and looked under and saw nothing. Im going back to the dealer to have them install the pad for the nav and the key fob tsb's. I'll mention it to them, maybe it's burned out.

Pad for the nav?

My footwell lights only come on when I open the door.

Yeah, there is a bad glare when the sun is pretty bright, sometimes making the screen unreadable. The sun hits in front of the screen and hits the screen. Here's what the
Service Bulletin 08-048 says,
"SYMPTOM
Under certain lighting conditions, the dashboard is
reflected in the audio or navigation display, which
makes it hard to read the screen.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Install an instrument panel pad.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
Place the instrument panel pad beneath the audio or
navigation display. The instrument panel pad material
holds the pad in place."
As far as my lights go, I got the door open, lights on, and looking all under the steering column and by the pedals and I see nothing. Oh well, I guess no light for me.

Yes, I found the tiny little spec of blue light tonight. PyroDave, you weren't kidding...it is very faint. The dealer even told me today that my vehicle wasn't equipped with foot well lighting. Liar. They "installed" the GPS pad and ordered me a new key no problem.

lopezpm, welcome to the forum. I'm glad you're enjoying the TSX so far. Regarding the footwell lights, when I had my '09, I found that turning the dimmer affected how bright they were. You might want to give that a try and see if it increases the illumination. The only drawback would be the instruments might be too bright at night.

You're right. It worked. Good memory. Btw, nice mods on your car.
