New To Me TSX - Maintenance Question

Hey Everyone,

My wife drives a 2011 Acura TSX (2nd Generation) that we recently acquired and I'm trying to learn more about how to service it properly. I'm not one who normally goes to the 'stealership'....I drive an Audi A4 and do a lot of my own maintenance. I can handle most basic car maintenance tasks (oil changes, spark plugs, replacing filters, etc.).

So a few questions, if anyone can help me out:

Questions:
A. Is the maintenance schedule / interval online somewhere?
B. Can someone link me to what is involved in the 30-35k mile service?
C. Any major areas of concern with the TSX in general? Maintenance I need to be on top of ?

Thanks in advance for all your time and help everyone. I'm about to be more of a regular member here in the coming months it seems like. =)

Thanks,
Asif

Mine came with a little service interval book in the glovebox. It's also probably online somewhere....

35k range is just oil change, nothing major

the only concerns with the TSX is the VTC actuator failure (grinding noise on cold start). Most of them have this problem. There is a TSB.

I like to change all the fluids +/- antifreeze on any used car I or my family get, just piece of mind to know what's in and done to the car.

Sorry, not much help to you. Too lazy to go into the garage to look at the maintenance book in the glove box.

The car will pop up an alphanumeric message in the info-display when the necessary maintenance is due.

The decoder from Acura is here: Acura Maintenance Schedules | Acura Owners Site

A general rough swag estimate from some rando dealer is as follows:

Correct. There is no set interval like with VAG or MB products. Like BMW, the car will tell you when it needs service -roughly every 6500 to 8000 miles or thereabouts. Use Honda filters and fluids - decent quality and cheap.

Thanks for all the comments and help guys! Is there a good online resource to buy filters, fluids, Acura (Honda) Parts?

I know with VAG, the one stop shop is ECS:
www.ecstuning.com

Is there something like that for Acura and Honda also?

Thanks,
Asif

There are a number of online dealers. Poke around a bit and you'll get the hang of the fiche (do they even call it that anymore?) system.

I like acuraoemparts.com and there is also oemacuraparts.com and bernardiparts.com that I've used in the past.

For common Honda/Acura parts like filters, wipers, and fiddly bits like clips and whatnot, you can usually get them for a bit cheaper from a Honda dealer. I'm partial to hondaautomotiveparts.com also, a good number of parts are available on Amazon.com

Basically, hit up one of the Acura dealer sites, find the PNs you're interested in, and do a Google search.

In my limited searching, Ive found Majestic Honda (hondaautomotiveparts.com) has been least expensive for Honda/common parts and acuraoemparts.com for Acura specific parts.

Of course YMMV.

Good luck!

Alignemnt Numbers Check

Hey Guys,

I just got my wife's 2011 Acura TSX an alignment, wanted to do a sanity check on the numbers:

If I've done my homework correctly, I believe you CANNOT adjust the camber on these cars. Is that correct?

Thanks,
Asif
