Hello everyone new member here been a Honda/Acura fan since my first car (2000 Acura tl) and now currently own a 2012 Acura tsx 5 speed special edition and i fell like it weighs to much 3486 lbs I believe, for a 201 hp car . My question is what can I do to make it lighter without gutting the interior? Thank you.

 

You bought the wrong car if you wanted 1) a light weight car and 2) power. Since you don't want to gut the interior, go full Top Gear crossing Botswana. Lose the hood, trunk, and doors. Smash all glass. Also run just enough gas just to get you to the next petrol station.

Aside from the given motor and chassis, the left over weight is condensed into the cabin with fancy sound deadening, leather and heated seats, safety gear and nanny electronics. It's a fat pig, not a race car.

You can ditch the spare and jack kit, but the advantages are not worth the peace of mind.

Or go the route of the select few and add HP instead of trying to ditch weight. BOOST is always the answer.

or yeah, go full top gear lol

 

Remove spare tire + spare tire kit.
Get lightweight wheels
CF hood
CF trunk lid
...
CF everything? lol

 

Go on a diet.

 

Wants race car, buys 5 speed auto tank 0.o

 

Open the hood.
Remove the oil cap.
Close the hood.
Buy a S2000.
Open the hood.
Remove the oil cap / replace w/ the TSX oil cap.
Close the hood, sell the TSX.
Lighter!
