This mod will probably have to wait till next season. Hopefully by then there'll be a canadian vendor for this kit so I can save on shipping.
I know what you mean. My rear aero bumper was a result of insurance claim (street vendor drop her cart). The side skirts (Sports/Modulo) I bought from a US forum vendor for almost half what I had to pay in Canada and the front lip was pure luck from the UK (dispatcher mistakenly charged only $60 to ship to Canada).

Have you look at the Mugen style ones available in Australia:

Yeah tech I was considering the Mugen one as well but I'm not a big fan. I like the subtle look of the TypeS kit. The front of the mugen doesn't really flow with the lines of the car IMO and the rear skirt looks just like the stock bumper--there's nothing to the design. Oh, and don't get me started on that stuck-in the 90's massive rear wing....

Can't wait to see the final product defcon. $550 shipped to CA is much cheaper than ordering from Asia.

No I did not know that. Is their Type S kit same as yours, (from the same manufacturer in Asia). Both you and defcon got a great deal, can't wait to see the finished (painted) product.

Wow, Rawesome the kit looks great. Are you working on the side skirts? How much did the paint job end up costing you?

With the rear lip, you may want to be on a look out for a larger exhaust tip

Consider the price, the rear lip is not bad at all. With a larger exhaust it will look better proportioned. See the same lip on nesterjester from Australia with a better camera:

nice! i really like the rear, too bad there aren't any exhaust systems out for the car yet, i'm just planning on getting exhaust tips for now.

and to answer your question i got everything painted for $275. i basically got the whole kit for about $725 then. if the skirts don't fit properly though i might just end up buying the oem skirts which are going for $450 shipped i believe.

actually theres like 2 or 3 exhaust for our car they are just expensive as hell (gotta ship from other countries. none in US..except CT one which is liek 1k and has no performance gain, or so i heard.)

That's about how much I paid ($430 from a forum vendor) to get it all the way to Canada.

Well I have the OEM type S front lip and the Modulo/US Aero side skirts and rear bumper. The OEM Type S side skirt would have cost me over $800 shipped from Japan.

it's really a matter to "each their own" but i'm satisfied with this lip kit, especially for what i paid for it!

the side skirts i got are really bulky and it looks like nesterjester's but mine won't fit as well as his i'm pretty sure. i'll just have to install them and see.

next up, coilovers!

What part of the sides doesn't fit well? You got an amazing looking kit at an amazing price.

Do you know if your paint was "flex paint" meaning it will allow some flex from the skirt without chipping or cracking? I was advised to get this if going with aftermarket skirts.

i noticed the full kit has some bends due to it being polyurethane. vendor told me to use a heat gun to get rid of it.

is this the problem youre experiencing with your side skirts?

yeah, i don't have a heat gun to shape/form the side skirts to fit better but if i did it'll probably solve most of my problems.

it might just be me though but the side skirts flare out a lot more than i think it should, which makes it look ugly IMO.

Ed I totally agree with you. The rear lip is the single reason why I haven't committed to getting this kit. I've asked certain sellers about giving me the type-s lip kit with the mugen rear, but they wont mix n match like that. As a bumper, the type-s rear isn't low enough to the ground..but as a lip it just doesn't look right either.
