I wanna tint my tail lights 12%. Do you think I will get pulled over? Also, when you got pulled over, were you getting tickets? Maybe I should tint, and add brighter bulbs also.

Modding the cluster backlighting color shouldn't be that difficult and shouldn't involve changing the LEDs. They're white, so just remove the cluster assembly, find the LEDs you want to change the color on and paint over them with a clear red / clear blue paint.

Getting the cluster out should only involve a few screws - someone go get it outta their car and let us know what we're up against.

I had a 3g TL, and believe me the owners of tl's do it cuz the dash button lights are fugly, a dull greenish white, but the gauges are beautiful.
i had red dash/gauges on my rsx-s, it was cool at first, never had red befor, but after a short while it was just to dim and dull, i needed something crisp and new feeling.
lots of old 80's cars like trans ams and firebirds have orange, red, green, dashes
IMO the new TSX dash are perfect AND make sense. the gauges are beautiful from the side, kinda like the inside of a sea shell, but from the front very colorful and easy-on-the-eyes blue, not to bright, just right! and the buttons are pure white and not to bright. when you have bright lights all around you in your car at night it's hard on your eyes and can make u feel sleepy/grumpy. so i think honda did there homework and lots of research on how to make a happy driver at night and what shades, colors, and brightness of the dash.
only thing i would change about stock lighting would be to make the footwell lights a little more obvious.

Never.

LOL.
+1! I saw the inside of my friend's BMW and it was all red on the dash and he had red for his footwell too and it looked sick! I was curious about this as well but I think I'd need a pro to do it for me as I don't wanna touch anything on the inside incase I screw it all up

alotta guys with the type-S hate the red. but if you heart it, changing the lights in our dash and on the wheel and behind the stereo cluster and shit is really hard. Its not like swapping a bulb, youd have to solder SMD leds like directly onto circuit boards and shit i believe...i feel like ive seen pics of someone do it before on a random forum

Hahah, I like it, but I wouldn't make mine red. I'm going for blue/white footwell lights. I don't wanna mix and match too many colours on my car. My interior lights are already all white LEDs!

this thread title was pretty misleading, you're talking about your cluster and gauge lights. i wouldn't really consider painting the bulbs, but i believe there are plastic bulb caps that can be added to change the color of the cluster.

it just seems like a hassle though, you would have to change everything in your car since it's all originally blue. the ambient lights and what not. taking out the cluster shouldn't be all that hard anyways

i love our dash colors lol

one thing that bugs me, and that NO one has yet to figure out, is that everything is blue or white. footwell is blue, the little cubby in center console is blue, why the hell is the glove box ORANGE?

I don't like that amber light in the glove box either. Seems like its much harder to change that bulb then the other interior ones. If someone is able to do it though we'd all appreciate a write up...

+100

what i notice is that the bulb seems to be similar to the oem footwell ones. meaning we can't really change the bulb? only splice in a new one and call it a day?

someone with more knowledge correct me plz
