New battery for 2013 TSX 4 cyl
Our car's battery did not survive 6 weeks hiatus in the garage. I jumped the car and drove it for 30 miles but it did not start the next morning. Tried a couple of more times with the same results.
Looks like it is time for a new battery and here is my question. Should I get another Acura battery or there are better alternatives? I believe it is 51R battery and I do not see that many choices. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

My last battery I ordered online for pick-up from Advance Auto using a 25% off coupon code I found by searching. I went with their Gold series when my Acura brand battery totally failed in less than 5 years. Unless you want to spend more with a high-end gel type battery, the high-grade store-brand battery should work as well as OEM and will meet or exceed OEM specs.
When I said "totally failed", I meant that something must have broken internally because the battery wouldn't even illuminate the dome light.

The dealer probably has it in stock, but you will pay more for it. Most parts houses can get in a few days. The choice is yours. I would suggest getting a battery tender if you tend to park the car over the winter.

The battery from Acura is shit. It's pretty well documented and everyone seems to have them die right about three years. Mine died right about 3 years in and Acura replaced it under warranty. Now, about three years later and just out of warranty and it's about to die again. Acura isn't getting any money from me when it does. Go with whatever you can afford at VatoZone or your parts store of preference.
