New 2010 TSX owner

Hey all,

I just picked up a new 2010 TSX and have one question. Is it normal to hear the fuel tank, or what I think is the fuel tank. There is a swooshing sound when I back up slowly without music on. I think I saw something similar to this on the forums, but I don't remember. So far so good with the TSX, love it compare dto my old car. Should I be aware of anything huge problems/recalls with the 2010? Thanks guys.

the rear struts make a noise whenever they move, it might be the sound you are talking about?

Things gone wrong with my '10:

Fuel door wouldn't open. (replaced the latch assembly known issue)

Speakers blew (Tech Package, replaced all door speakers and subwoofer, new sub is going as well, another known issue)

Rattle in the headliner (they took it off and somehow stopped it it's perfectly quiet now)

Rear shelf ticking noise (made the clearance between weld spots bigger, another known issue)

New Issues:

Drivers door is starting to get hard to open...

Hood wobbles on bumps the edge closest to the wipers..

I have to confess I'm really picky at this point, first vehicle over $25,000 I've ever owned so I do expect it to be better than my 05 civic. I'm VERY disappointed in the stereo. having spent $3,000 more for the tech package over the base, I would think they would do a better job with the speakers. Pretty disappointing.

The TSX is solid so far. The swooshing sound is extremely tolerable, just caught me off guard at first. I didn't opt for the tech package, and I don't blast my music either so hopefully I don't experience any problems with my speakers. The suspension seems a little bumpy at times (down the same stretch of road), otherwise it is fine. Thanks for the replies guys.

Oh and by the way, if you haven't noticed I'm new here and have been browsing this site for some time now. Hi all.

Well, welcome aboard! as some azine members have mentioned throughout the site.. sometimes by browsing upon threads and seeing multiple problems, it makes it easier to find problems on your own car.

don't let that happen to you!

Yep...the sloshing sound you hear...is the gas in the gas tank. LOL.

I also notice that the steering makes a low whirring type noise when I turn it as well. But if it's not broken...I'm not gonna worry about it.

I have close to 11K miles on my TSX. Pretty solid so far. Quite happy with it. It just feels solid when it motors down the road.

I also love the way it looks. When I lock the car and walk away...I always turn around and look at the car one more time...lovingly. LOL!!!!

The suspension is a bit bumpy, especially the rear. My kids complained about being bouncy, so I installed the Euro Sports Suspension (Aspec) and solve the problem (as well as improve the overall handling). Other members installed Eibach, Tein and H&R springs which seems to alleviate the bumpiness.

I was coming from a Hyundai and only have 300 miles on my TSX so far, but comparitively, it doesn't seem bumpy at all.

Hello and welcome! I've had my base model for close to 6 months now, and 10,000 miles with zero problems so far. If you ever have questions or need help with your car, this is the place to visit (definitely good advice when reading about other peoples problems, too often can make you start to think too much).

I did read this was an issue, but I always have the radio/ipod/cd on fairly loud, so I have never heard it. I've had the car since July 3, 10 and it's so far so good. Avg MPG is around 27.

This might be the stupidest question ever...but here goes:

Whenever i stop the engine i hear running fluid somewhere under the hood and it keeps running for about 15 minutes...its not noticeable when im out...but when im parked in the garage it sounds like a tap was left on...is this normal?

After 34k miles, the only regret I have is not getting the 6MT.

Welcome:

I am the proud owner of a 06 tsx, bought 11/17/06. It now has almost 114,000 problem free miles. As of now I am planning to get a 2011 tsx next June but that could change. I am disappointed in the color choice offered with the manual transmission.
