So I test drove a 2009 TSX tech today and love the car... The internet sales manager is quoting me a price of $28,424. How much lower do you think I can talk him down to? How should I negotiate with him?

Honestly I think that's a really good price. I got mine for 29,800 (6MT tech) in June. Of course, mine was also pulled in as a "trade" from another dealer.

If it were me, I would negotiate for "extras" or maybe try to bump it down a couple of hundred, but... still a really good price. Might not be worth haggling much.

As for "how to negotiate" - either in person, by phone, or by email, however you're set up to do it. If you want to make a counter offer, you can just say something like, "That's too high for me. Would you take $XX?"

I got my 09 tech for $28.5k last month. But I also got them to throw in trunk tray, splash guard, winter mats, and wheel locks.

Take the deal, but also ask for extras.

About 31,700 out the door because the crappy sales tax rates we have in california
