Damn, $3,500 for the "technology package".
The new TSX seems like a wimpier version of the current gen TL. Nearly as wide and heavy but with a four banger instead of a V6. I'd sooner look at the current TL-S than the new TSX. They must have blamed it's realtively low sales compared to the TL on it's smaller size and have made the new TSX a TL lite.

All in all, I like it.
The beak needs to go and those stock wheels will take getting used to.

BUT, the only interior dimensions to have increased is shoulder room both front and rear. Rear leg room is up 0.1 inches and rear hip room is actually down by 0.1 inches so I'm not sure where the extra space went.

Another quote from the review.
"Electric power steering like the system that bowed on the NSX improves fuel economy and enables a much tighter steering ratio (14.8:1 versus 16.0:1), but sad to say transmits none of the intimate road-surface detail that its supercar forebear did. Hope future tuning will restore some of the old TSX's road feel."
That sounds bad. I hope it is still better than the IS.

I personally think that TSX in the article looks better than the current generation. It looks more sleek and upscale. The driving dynamics seems generally unchanged. The tech option is a bit steep but people on this board have been clamoring for more options.

That's even worst than current generation right? Sad.

Given that this TSX has grown, if the new TL were to stay relatively unchanged in size it might represent the souped up TSX people are looking for. Given how close the new TSX looks to the RL facelift and the MDX and RDX and how much is borrows from the Sports 4 concept it's hard to imagine the new TL looking like much different than the new TSX.

If the TSX stayed a dedicated sport sedan, Acura could overlap TL (like the IS and ES do). Since the TSX seems to be aiming more at the ES, I'm not sure what exactly the TL is supposed to compete with.
BTW, I didn't like the press shots of the new Maxima, but the in-person pics from the show look awesome. There's another alternative to this new TSX, especially since the Maxima will be coming out in a diesel next year too.

Maybe it was used in the body of the car in their efforts to reduce road noise??

As a Steely Dan fan, I enjoyed reading this about Elliot Scheiner who designed the sound system:
Through the years, Mr. Scheiner has worked with a veritable Who's Who of artists, but his relationship with Fagen stretches way back to the early Steely Dan era. Serious fans like us (every Mixmaster Lassa "-of-The-Year" compilation disk has included at least one song from the Steely Dan/Fagen repertoire) will be interested to learn it was Scheiner's Haitian divorce that inspired that Royal Scam album tune of 1976. His lawyer advised him to finalize his divorce before the end of the year, and Haiti provided on-the-spot service. Just bring notarized paperwork, the judge forks over an elaborate wax-sealed document, and then there's a big party.
Some years later, Scheiner was set up on a blind date by his pals, as a joke, with a girl 11 years his junior. They had nothing in common, they couldn't dance together, and for heaven's sake, she'd never heard of Aretha Franklin-the Queen of Soul. Yep, it inspired 1980's "Hey Nineteen" released on the album Gaucho.

I worship god not 0-60s and the 1/2 mile times, I'll take a good chassis over speed any time any day.
I love all the chasis and suspension mods. I love the wider size and how much more quieter and how wind noise is gone.
home run. ~20% more high strength steal is also nice with ACE body structure. Sooo many improvements. visit vtec.net to see every detail.

FYI,
I like to watch Motor Week on PBS and they are going to review the 09 TSX on the next show. I have to wait until Sat, 4/5/08, at 2:30pm to watch in New Mexico. Maybe Motor Week will show earlier in another market.
The three things I dislike about the 09 TSX:
1. the Saturn Aura like front end, not crazy about the chrome bar across the top of grille
2. No V-6 and/or Turbo option (yet)
3. The interior dash looks about 90-95% like the new Honda Accord. Seems to be too much overlap with the USA Accord. I think the new TSX will increase Accord sales.
