Moronic smile....

Took my 06 in for "Customer appreciation free 45 point check" (actually for the free oil change coupon)

Out front I see the lot owner and an eager beaver saleman finishing a conversation while standing next to a 2009 white tsx...

I butt in..... "What did they do to my TSX? gonna be a tuff sell"
"Less horsepower and a stupid looking grin"

They actually agreed with the horsepower issue and said
"We were trying to figure out why Acura did not put the Turbo or a small V-6 in it ourselves, we would sell a milllion of them"

They continued, "it does have more torque and new electronic steering"

I left it at that and asked about the 2009 TL...he mentioned AWD.

I sat in the 2009 tsx and the seats struck me as much more supportive; the paddle shifters I could do with out...it has grown up too much though size wise, why buy a TL other than the Engine difference?

I prodded the "Idiot Smile" and it felt truly loose and cheesy.

As it was raining, I passed the drive test for another day.

I like my 2006 even more (I did the Hondata and upgraded speakers as my only changes)

I'm wondering how the Euros feel about the new Euro Accord there. They're like why is it so big and fat now? Dang Americans with their TSX! Arrgg!

Car sizes have to keep up with the growing (width-wise) American population!

So true, but the new TSX is just like the old TSX, based on the EuroAccord. Maybe the butts are getting bigger in Japan and Europe as well. In other words, I don't think Acura is calling the shots in this regard.

BTW - The car feels like a small car when driving it. Not as big as a TL or Accord IMHO

I didn't even think of it that way, but it's a sad truth.

It's "the element." C'mon, yield to the peer pressure.

The new Civic is bigger now. It becomes a compact, not subcompact anymore. So the Accord has to grow too, both USDM and JDM.

Can't imagine many years after, Civic becomes a mid-size family car. Please don't honda.

I read in a car mag today that the TSX grew in a large part, for Europe, because the diesel engine needed the room. also because the A4 and BMW3 grew too.

So on narrow European streets, you need to grow in size to keep up with the Jones' (in this case, European marques)? I call "bull****." But the car isn't enormously larger, and I've heard several test drivers comment that it feels roomier than their 2004-2008 model TSX. So clearly something was done in addition to simply increasing the outside measurements.
