Similar K24 engine but, lower HP. My 2012 doesn't burn oil either between changes. I'm using 0W-20 Pennzoil Ultra since new so, I guess I've been lucky so far?

 

Hmm. Interesting that all these years they haven't figured out why the oil burning issue happens? Is it due to oil or something else

 

You'd think with the thinner oil that it may burn sooner? Maybe I'm not driving it hard enough! My wife's 2010 MDX uses/burns about half a liter between oil changes with mostly city driving.

 

My oil change will be next month. I check my oil level every week, so far all good. Then again my mileage is in the 30s so far.

 

My 09 6spd has about 54k on it. Picked it up when it had 49k. Loss about 1/2 qt when I changed it out last month.

I did pick up a Blackstone Oil Analysis kit recently and plan on sending it in at my next oil change to get some fancy reports to check out my engine. I had a 06 FG2 with the k20, so some oil burn is normal for me. My main concern is the maintenance minder light. At my driving, I would've hit 9k miles before it came on for an oil change.

At my current pace, when MID is 20%, I would have driven 8300 miles. 97% of my driving is 80-85mph highway.

Please keep us posted on the oil analysis.
I am under warranty another 100k miles, or 11/2019, whichever comes first.
