LSD on TSX?
LSD on TSX?
Anyone know if 2G TSX models have limited slip differentials? I've never seen it mentioned in the trade mags or the product literature. But it would seem logical that the V6 and TLs would have one to help tame the torque steer.
I had an 02 TL S-Type that didn't have one and the torque steer was nasty. And then they came out with an LSD for the CL Coupe S-Type in 03 which was essentially the same drive train as the TL. I drove one and it made a world of difference.

I have been trying to find a suitable aftermarket or oem piece for the cu2 chassis. The 2.4L uses a 14 bolt ring gear, while the other K series use a 12 bolt.
Hopefully the 2012 Civic SI has the same 14 bolt ring gear, if so, we should be able to have a LSD in the very near future. It has an LSD from OEM, or hopefully we will have some aftermarket options soon.

Unless you are tracking it, you shouldn't really worry about an LSD, especially since we aren't even breaking 200 ft/lbs of torque, when you get into the srt neons, mazdaspeeds, and FWD cars with upwards of 250+ tq and HP your concern for torquesteer would be more present.
not to mention it is a very time/labor intensive job to do on our vehicles.

check your syncros and clean the tranny case while it's open, I also strongly advise a wirewheel to remove the old hondabond from where the case splits. Clean, prep, and generously apply new hondabond, also check your throwout bearing, they are pretty darn inexpensive from Acura to replace.
Lastly I would recommend skunk2 magnetic drain plug, I have almost 80k miles on my setup without any issues after doing all of the above

Good suggestions. I do have a magnetic oil plug that is in my glove box, waiting to go in.
I am having a local shop do the work, but I will definitely ask they perform case clean up before reassembly.
Hopefully all I need is the 10 bolt ring gear and bolts. We'll soon see.
My flywheel, clutch and ring gear just showed up today.
