Does the 2011 TSX really have less cabin noise than the '09 and '10 TSX? Has anyone done a comparison between '11 and '09/'10 to verify?

I'm somewhat skeptical, as I've never driven a Honda/Acura product that has a quite cabin (at least compared to Toyota/Lexus).

 

there was something posted about this a while ago, try searching for that thread. but yes the 11 is advertised as having less cabin noise than the 09/10 versions. the glass is a little bit thicker, and there is more carpeting or something to muffle road noise

 

I also understand that the V6 has Active Noise Cancellation via speakers, which is just an awesome technical idea. I'm also curious if this has made any difference.

It's one of those Honda Motors quirks, they've never done noise mitigation as well as Toyota, I wonder if it has to do with their preference of stiffer handling over a squooshier suspension that Toyotas tend to have. Me personally I prefer stiff / sporty handling which is why I liked TSX over Lexus IS250, but I wish the noise was as well controlled as Lexus.

i have an 11 and think it is very quiet. quieter than my 08 Accord for sure, and as quiet as my 10 G37 if not quieter.

 

The '11 TSX is definitely quieter than the '10.

Acuras are rarely as quiet as a Lexus. But then you get steering feel, better suspension and more of a driver's car in return. Different strokes.
