Installing interior LEDS, now they don't work plus other lights!

Alright so another update, I DID receive my exLED lights finally and was excited to install them. I started with the license plate ones, which worked like a charm. When I got to the trunk light, I had to bend the two clips up to be able to fit the LED in, as I was doing this, the light was going on and off because the metal was touching.

I broke one of the metal clips, but figured it was no big deal. NOW the trunk light, license plate lights, the rear passenger door lights, dome and map lights dont even come on! I didn't even put the LEDs in for those yet?

Is this a fuse issue? This is ridiculous that all I want to do is install LEDS and this shit happens. Everyone else seems to have done it fine, and when I do it, half the lights go out. I even tried putting back the old bulbs, now they don't work. Can anyone shed light on this situation or have a solution?

Thanks

battery SHOULD be disconnected when you are changing bulbs. you could easily fry a module.

you blew a fuse. hopefully thats all.

a quick search will help. its one in the cab iirc.

Instructions said nothing about that. Anyway, your last line, "its one in the cab iirc", what is that?

Alright everyone, it was a blown fuse, which thankfully is cheap and easy to replace. It appears that replacing the trunk light was the culprit as others ran into a blown fuse replacing this particular bulb.

Everything went well and my interior is looking 10x better. I went with the 6k LED's and I like the cool white look. Only thing is the company did forget to package one set of vanity mirror LEDs so I will be contacting them soon.

I watched this video:
. Start the time at 2:00 and the guy begins to show how to access the license plate lights. The video taping isn't the best and the guy has some weird music playing, but it helped me get the job done.

All you do is remove the 4 outer clips on the inside of the trunk lid. 3 you pry with a flathead screw driver, and 1 you need a really small philips head screw driver. When those are out, you peel back the interior material (which again, is on the inside of the trunk lid), and you'll see the 2 light harnesses. All you do is squeeze the harness to release it, change the bulb, and clip it back in. Repeat for the second light.

Now to put the interior material back on is tricky. To push the clips back in, you need needlenose pryers to squeeze the bottoms of the clips to allow them to go back into their slots. Its hard to explain here, but you'll see when you get to this step. I broke some of the bottoms of the clips, but it was minor and the clips still did their job when I got them in.

Good luck, and remember, my fuse blew when I attempted to replace the trunk light and this happened to others.

the fuse is one in the cabin. If I Remember Correctly IIRC.

you got it figured.

but seriously undo the neg terminal when you touch anything electrical.

a few have fried a module for the interior lights changing a door lamp.

its not always JUST THE FUSE.

You're not married are you? Do yourself a favor and do NOT put 6000k bulbs in the vanities - the harsh, cold light brings out every imperfection in her face - and you don't want to listen to that each time she pops down the visor to check her makeup.

Robpp - a quick hijack

How do the trunk light covers come off in the wagon? I haven't figured out where to pry and I don't want to break anything.

Ha, I have a girlfriend, and I have the regular bulbs on her side so she will be happy. As for the missing bulbs for me, I paid for it so I want it lol. Even with the 20% holiday discount these are very expensive.

Good luck with waiting for the missing vanity lights to come in.

It's been nearly 2 months and my order is still not complete. This is after two dozen email exchanges, long wait time for responses, an incomplete order followed by the wrong bulbs being sent.

ExLED makes quality bulbs, and its by far better than anything I've been able to find on eBay. However, the poor customer service or lack thereof is definitely killing the satisfaction for me.

I would contact Paypal then. I did the same thing with calling, leaving voice mails, and emails... No answer. Once I filed a complaint with Paypal, magically I got a response from someone (this was messaging through paypal too), I got my shipment 1st class within a few days (we had a bad snow storm so that took a bit).

I messaged the guy again via Paypal, so I hope to hear soon. My lights look amazing and love the look, but the customer service is terrible.

I might have to go that route if I still don't get an answer by next week. I was told last week that it would be shipped out in the next few days.

Everybody used to praise Jin, but his response times have been horrible IMO. I'm guessing they simply can't keep up with the influx of orders from the holiday promotion - that and the fact that a lot of 9th gen accord owners are flooding their pipeline.

By the way, what are your thoughts about the license plate lights? I found them a bit too bright so I used a piece of frosted plastic to diffuse the light output a bit.

I'm really sorry to hear about the lousy customer service, since that will break a business quicker than bad products.

I don't get bright license plate lights. You don't see them and all they do is call attention to your car - the bad kind of attention.

I actually like the look of the license plate lights. I overall enjoy the cool white LED look and noticed the advanced brightness compared to others. Now, most new luxury vehicles have a cool white glow for their license plates now, but of course not as bright.
