ILX pictures

Only exterior pictures, the greenhouse looks like the first gen Mazda 3, including the overall proportions. Much better looking than the Civic. Say goodbye to the TSX.

IIIIII dunno... I see a small Japanese sedan. I'm not feeling how this is supposed to save Acura.

This is great! Will provide for significant distinction between the tl and new rl. If this weighs less than 3100 (2.4 liter), consider me sold. Otherwise, I'll stick with the tsx. I do want that text messaging feature, though.

Dang, I like this more than the current Tsx. If I didn't put a non-refundable deposit down, I would wait for this.

^you put a non-refundable deposit on a tsx? lol, how's that possible, the car exists everywhere. My guess is you are buying a model in which the dealer has to source the vehicle, right?

I don't see them chopping the current generation TSX right away. Maybe they'll do what lexus and bmw are doing...even though they said they're committed to a 3 car lineup? Lexus has the IS, ES, GS, and LS. BMW has the 1,3,5,7 series. Maybe acura can go ILX, TSX, TL, and RL. Just a thought. And i'm really itchin to see the production version of the new NSX. It should make getting a 1G/2G NSX a lot easier(cheaper).

^they could totally pull off a 4 car line up. Heck Audi does it with their a3, a4, a6, and a8...Since the rl is supposed to be at a 7-series / a8 level, they'll need to a model to compete against the a6. Cadillac realized this and it is why they released the ats to handle the a4 while the cts got bigger into a6/5-series territory. The greatest part is that the acuras will then be cheaper than each of their competitive offerings...and cheaper to maintain...I have faith in Acura for 2013

^ I totally forgot about Audi! I've been drooling over the 2013 S8. Everything in your post IS true. I'd buy any acura over their european counterparts just because of the value and resale, PLUS there's nothing to really maintain over a normal Honda. Freakin win-win in my book, sir!

As pointed as the front bumper is, think of how much of a brick the front license plate holder is going to be! Should be interesting to hear the weight to determine power to weight ratio. There are conflicting reports on when it will be released, some say spring, some say early next year, hard to tell. Also, I read to not expect those large of wheels, the cross drilled brakes will not be realized either. Do you think the integrated rear exhaust will stay as well???

There seems to be alot of unfinished design between the base of the grill and the lip of the bumper.

yea, its crazy that some say early this spring and other say fall to next year. The performance version should retain the wheels and brakes, it's rather unfortunate that it is not.

Another thing... seems Acura is stretching the C-pillar too much and only using 5 inches on metal for the truck. They are starting to look like a hatchback.

i think the ilx is the sexiest acura ever. i don't know the price, if its over $30k territory then no thanks. Not a fan of the 2.0 engine that was on the csx, its not fun like the k20 on the Si at all. only gives about 155hp yet its much heavier than a civic. The 2.4 will be likely reserved for the type-s which will only be available with a 6MT. I rather spent a little more for the tsx or vw cc.

From the pic and youtube vid it seems the exhaust is integrated into the bumper. From what I can see there's still a little more work they have to do and i'm guessing around 80% of this car will make it to production. I seriously doubt the the cross-drilled rotors will make it or the wheels. Seems to concept-y. I'm pretty sure it'll have one exhaust to or dual tips like the majority of the Acura group. I want to see the interior.

Pickler I didn't know the ILX is going to replace the CSX in Canada. I'm also glad to see that it has projectors. That could mean HIDs FTW! Looking at the pics of the nicely done modified CSX's it didn't look like HIDs were an option.

It wouldn't surprise me if the ILX started sub-$30K since the TSX starts close to that now.

The CSX premium did offer HID but they were in reflector housing like the prev gen TLs 99-03. They were pretty descent actually. The csx type-s msrp was $33,400 and the slower 2.0 tech was around $27k. this will be likely the msrp for the ILX as well.

I like it! The character line along the rear quarter panels reminds me of Audi's A5, and I bet it will look better in the sheetmetal than in photos. I assume the 2.4 liter will be the new DI engine, so it should have more power and torque than the TSX, and thus pretty strong performance. If it has good steering feel and a reasonably sized trunk, I could be interested, but I'm really hoping to go with RWD or AWD next time around.

Speaking of that, now that Toyota and Subaru have brought back the reasonably priced, light, reliable (presumably), RWD sports car, somebody needs to do the same for the sport sedan. I wish Honda/Acura would step up to the plate. Something like the ILX with RWD would be a blast.

I like the ILX a lot. If the price is right and the steering is much improved, it definitely has my interest.

Me wants fogs on the ILX...

Pricewise I remember reading that it should be around the 25k range for the base. Supposed to be cheaper than the current TSX...forgot where I read it.

It's much nicer than I expected... It's great that the 2.4 ltr will come manual only. I'm just hoping it will be light (well, lighter than the competition at least). I sure miss the feel of my Integra GSR. I feel like sportiness has taken a back seat for Acura since then, even though we're still better than Lexus, with their generally unsporty feel.
