In my part of FL i don't see many of the current gen TSX. Now the 1st gen, yea I see those from time to time. Of course I see the 2nd an 3rd gen TLs too. Plenty of those. Starting to see a few 4th Gen TLs too.

I'm not a huge fan of the looks. I find it has the headlamps and the rear quarter of a lexus is.
Maybe seeing it in person would help, but if I was in the market I doubt I'd consider it.

I see crappy engines for a entry level luxury car. Kill it with a RPG!
Seriously, that 2.0L better be some sort of mechanical evolution baby jesus type of deal or this car is going straight to hell. I don't know where automakers came up with the idea that weak little N/A engines are acceptable in a entry level luxury car. Honda is especially guilty for that.
At least with our cars you can get the V6 if you want. Hell, we all know how slow the 2.4 L is...

I saw the ILX at the auto show. I liked it. I also liked the TSX just as much, especially the SE version.
Here are some pics I took of some Acuras:
Yes...I like the wagon. It looked HORRIBLE though, like nobody took care of it.

I have stated this before, but every time I touch a button on the dash, grab the door handle, see the old dot matrix resolutions I see/feel a car that screams cheap to me.

back lines (not the taillights) actually look more like the new g37 coupes...
I still think I like the new Accord coupe concept better.

Acura ILX Interior Pics
Found some interior pics from Car & Driver. Definitely different from the Civic's interior which was not true of the Acura CSX.

I saw the ILX in person the other day at the Philly Auto Show and overall, I like it! The few cons for me right now are:
But of course this is just the concept and much can change between now and production, and the car may really come alive in other colors, like most Acuras seem to do.
I have to be honest, though, and say that I just may find myself going back to Honda (Accord coupe). I seem to be getting back into my coupe phase, I think I may want to go back to a manual tranny as well, and the new Accords have pretty much everything the Acuras have (I still don't get why Honda is making them as close as they are these days). I can get a V6 with a 6-speed manual OR if I decide to stick with the Auto route, I can get the 6-speed Auto in the coupe!
If I would decide to stay with a 4-cyl I don't think I would bother with the Accord, as the CVT doesn't seem like it would be my cup of tea (however, I would keep an open mind and still test drive one just to see).
My point is, the ILX could be in the ballpark of what I am looking for, but it still may be a tough sell for me...time will tell!
- It falls apart a little at the rear end.
- Might be just a tad bit too small for what I am looking for; the overall size seems like it may be okay but being that it is that size as a sedan, I may have an issue w/ ingress/egress like I found I do with the Lexus IS (and I am not really that big of a guy either).
- From certain angles at the front end, it looks a little "bland" (for lack of a better term).
- Solid red taillights.

I saw the ILX prototype at the Philly Auto Show today, and IMO it looks leaner and meaner than the TSX, which is good. I definitely like it. Whether I'd actually prefer it over the TSX depends on: (1) steering feel, the sole major weakness in the TSX for me; (2) whether the trunk is big enough for family road trips; and (3) power, obviously. I'm a little concerned about the power issue, but I guess we'll know soon enough!
BTW, the Cadillac ATS actually looks cool, and I'm lovin' the Toyota/Subaru sports car, which appeared in Subaru form at the show. Honda/Acura should really do something in RWD for the hard core.

I really hope Acura goes for the 4 car system, cuz I think the tsx still has one or two good generations to go, and would love to see the Acura brand expand a little bit more.

Still waiting on the new Accord sedan. Honda alluded to a V6 6MT offering...
Since the new accord will likely be a world car, you might be going to a Honda dealership for your next gen TSX.

^ I think you answered your own question with that last pic, no?
Wheel are usually cast the same way. So if they're 'directional,' when mounted on a vehicle, the ones on the right side will show a different direction in relation to the ones on the left side. Just like the 1st pic you quoted of the ILX of its right side(wheel direction pointing foward), and the last of its left side(pointing backward). In
Hope I read and understood what you wrote, and that was what you meant?

I like the first pic better too.
I said it either earlier in this thread or in another, but I think I just may be going back to Honda depending on how the coupe/sedan finished products end up being, for numerous reasons:
"Two non-hybrid engines will be offered: a 181-horsepower, 2.4-liter four-cylinder with direct injection and a 3.5-liter V-6 with “more power than its predecessor,” Honda says. Four-cylinder models use a continuously variable automatic transmission, and V-6 versions get a six-speed automatic; a six-speed manual is available on both versions.
New-for-2013 Accord features include a lane departure warning system, blind spot monitoring and forward-crash warning technology. Cameras mounted in the windshield and passenger-side mirror work with these systems to detect potential collisions. Newly standard across the board are a backup camera, Pandora internet radio functionality, SMS text messaging and Bluetooth connectivity."

Does anyone feel that 150hp is WAYY too little power for the ILX? I know that they are gonna have the k24 shoved in there with 200hp, but I feel like having the 150hp engine really cheapens the brand as a whole. I really wonder how much the base ILX will cost since the TSX is already 30k with a more expensive platform and engine...how low will the ILX go?

im afraid its going to be underpowered and overpriced, and that most people will end up just upgrading to a tsx or walking away from acura all together. its most likely going to have a starting price higher than the civic SI.

My old roommate had a base RSX and it was pretty slow, one of the main reasons it was still fun to drive was because of its lightness. With all the equipment they are packing into the ILX I cant help but feel that its going to be very sluggish.

I said the same thing in another ILX thread; 150 hp is ridiculous for a "near luxury" brand. It's about the same as the base Subaru Impreza and the new Skyactiv engine in the Mazda 3. Heck, my 2006 Mazda 5 microvan has more power! Maybe this engine will only last one year before the new DI motors arrive, with presumably better performace and economy. Let's hope so.

Okay guys some of you are going about this in the wrong way. You're posing these questions as if Acura is trying to court you to try their brand. This car is meant to be an entry level luxury car to introduce mostly new college grads to the company. The ISX is Acura's Integra for 2013. If the customer wants more performance, they'll be in the ISX-S or TSX one step up. The other thing you forget is that you really can't compare the ISX to a Mazda 5 or base Impreza. Will either of those cars offer ELS DTS stereo, streaming bluetooth, read your cells text messages and let you tell the car to text a message back, play Pandora Internet radio, while also have XM Weather/Traffic services all in the same car for under 30k??? Sure the Mazda 3 offers some stuff but no all of that.
I commend Acura for doing this. Not everyone needs/wants a V6 with over 250hp like we most of us do. Just my .02 to get the educated minds thinking....
This all said i was shocked when Acura didn't put the TSX's K24 in FWD RDX to get even more mpg especially in the city where soccer moms spend most of their time.

Agreed with bolded statement. It's also the first taste into luxury that new college grads can get for sub 30k prices. If they like it and want more, they can explore other Acura options after they've tasted what Acura has to offer in the ILX.

I guess the engine choices wouldn't be as bad if the higher performance engine wasn't manual only.
I wouldn't mind trying to learn stick again, but driving in DC traffic is out of the question.

Stop whining about this cars power people!
Most of the people that will purchase this car (I'm going to be one of them) DO NOT CARE ABOUT HOW MUCH HORSEPOWER/TORQUE THE ENGINE HAS - we want all the latest gadgets, an exterior design that doesn't scream "look at me I'm in desperate need of attention", reliability, resale value and when something breaks down ANY mechanic can fix it without charges an arm/leg like German brands. Time will tell that this vehicle will be Acura's best selling car surpassing the horrific (re-fresh didn't do much) looking TL. I come from a huge family which owns nothing but Honda/Acura and Nissan/Infinity products...those of you that place so much emphasis on power need to go after a Nissan/Infinity V6 engine...the torque/g-force feeling of their V6's blow away any Honda/Acura V6. Point being, lets stop talking crap about this car having 150 hp. Honda/Acura 4 door cars have done well over the years NOT because of their 0-60 speed but because of everything else. It's about time the Torrance, CA studio employees designed a decent looking car!

Well, just went to the Toronto Auto show yesterday. They had two production ready ILXs (one blue and one silver). Showgoers can sit in them. All in all, the ILX is not a bad package. The dash looks better in person than in pictures. Acura may have a winner here.
There is no comparison with the TSX however. TSX's interior is still much richer.
At the show, there was one black TSX sedan sadly hidden at the back.
