I am starting to think the 2009 ralliart is some of what the TSX coudl have been
So in my disappointment of the 2009 tsx not having awd or a turbo charger or a new transmission and basically being the same car with a new body and 8 lb/ft of torque i started looking at other cars coming out in 2009.
SO apparently the ralliart is supposed to cost about 25k and is going to have
a 235hp turbo i-4, awd , and optional dsg and touch screen !!! nav that isnt an idrive wanna be. it even comes with recaro seats and xenons standard.
granted the iinterior is crap compared to the tsx and it probably has way more noise and such, but it makes me feel like that is the soul of what the TSX could have been. I was hoping the TSX would become the luxury sleeper evo. I mean if the TSX "type S" had started at say 31k , i'm sure they could have re-engineered the turbo from the k23t to have a front mounted intercoller or something (to go in that giant hole in the front with the chicken wire ).
i'm still barely holding out hope that we have a chance of that.

The Ralliart has peaked my interest as well. But I doubt I could live with that interior. But its nice to see Mitsu with all those performance options. Evo MR, GSR and now Ralliart.

yeah thats the problem with the ralliart. it looks like something a kid with rich parents buys them.
that and the general unrefinement. i guess my point was i was hoping the tsx woudl become a refined wrx/ralliart. honestly the chrome on the front of the ralliart alone looks pretty gaudy, and the interior from the pics i've seen look pretty much terrible, far below say a honda fit. that said, i think the basic idea is there.

yeah, i suppose i was exagerrating about it bieng terrible.
i mean it looks very functional, but its not nice looking. the plastic also looks really cheap. maybe its just the tacky fake carbon fiber shiny strip that bothers me and the giant hvac knobs.
that said the seats look like they'd feel great.

I haven't read even one review where the interior of the new Evo was liked. It may look ok in pics, but all opinions thus far have not been kind.
But in a car at that price, with that drive train...I guess you can't complain.

I might be able to forgive the Ralliart depending on the price. I'd miss heated seats, though.

That interior would absolutely kill the deal for me. There is no way I could stand to sit in that day after day.
On second thought, it now reminds me of a low class ripoff of my current interior:
Steering wheel, gauges, console, hvac controls, screen... its all eerily similar, but very different at the same time.

I love the new car smell of plastic and vinyl.
