How to remove cured 3M Black Super Weatherstrip Adhesive

My windshield trims came loose a few years ago. I used the 3M Black Super Weatherstrip Adhesive to glue them back. But, one of the windshield trims is loose again. What can I use to remove the existing cured 3M Black Super Weatherstrip Adhesive completely before I install the new windshield trim? I went to the local auto parts store. They only had the 3M 38987 Specialty Adhesive Remover in stock, which I was not sure whether this was the right adhesive remover to use.

I ended up getting 3M 38983 General Purpose Adhesive Remover from Amazon. It could soften the 3M Black Super Weatherstrip Adhesive to a chewing gum texture. But it still took quite a bit of work to remove the 3M Black Super Weatherstrip Adhesive afterward.
