Hi guys,
I just bought a 2010 TSX and I am trying to think of the best way
to hardwire my Escort X50 radar.
The DIY instructions on the forums are for the 09 TSX,
but the 2010 TSX is a bit different.
I don't feel comfortable using a rubber mallet and hitting a certain
spot so that the pillar comes off from the grommet.
What if the airbag pops?
I don't want to take that expensive risk.
I know I have to disconnect the battery and stuff
but that is still not a guarantee that the airbags won't pop.
The electrical work I can handle, that's the easy part,
the hard part is snaking that wire up the A-Pillar.
I really don't want to take it off because I am real anal
about not putting it back right and then it might cause rattles
and I don't want any visible seams and stuff.
I might just have to use a credit card and just try to
shove it into the side of the a-pillar.
Has anyone on the forum tried to hardwire a radar on the 2010 TSX.

I hard wired mine by just snaking the wire behind the airbags. Once you pull out the weather stripping around the door frame there will be a gap where you can tuck the wire. You just have to snake around the back of the airbag tube to the windhield then tuck your wire in the ceiling. I taped foam around the wire every few inches so there wont be any rattling since i could not cable tie the wire properly.
