Help looking for a new car...Pics inside...long story.

In 2011 my baby (2003 Honda Civic SI) that I bought new in 2003 was totaled in a tornado at the St. Louis airport. I ended up getting a great deal from insurance and was still able to part the car out.

I ended up getting a new 2011 Acura TSX, which is a very nice car but nothing like or as fun as the hatch. My wife wanted it because it was a 4 door and we were planning on having a baby within the next few years and wanted the extra room. I have tried modding it and have done a few thing, but just really haven’t gotten that excited about it. Wife doesn’t want me doing “big” mods to it as she does want to “ruin” such a nice car.

Fast forward to May 15th 2013 we finally had a baby boy. Now that we are using the backseat of the TSX we have discovered that it is very small, I think it may be smaller than most 2 door cars. We can barely get him in and out of the car and the car seat hardly fits passenger seat needs to be moved up in order for it to fit.

I think we have decided that we want to get a new car with a bigger back seat. We just don’t know what to get. I have never owned anything other than a Honda or Acura and find it hard to look at other brands, but I’m just not that impressed with Honda’s current lineup. We just don’t know what to get. We also have a 2012 Honda Pilot Touring, but we don’t want that to be our daily driver.

Lately I have to looking at the 2013 Scion xB’s. I kind of like the look of them, and they seem easy to mod. I have never driven this car nor liked at it in person, but the backseat looks like it has plenty of room.
What do you guys think? Any ideas on what to get or any insight on the Scion xB? I’m looking for a new car as well. Or should I keep the Acura and daily the Pilot? Thank you guys!

Interested in selling that TSX? It's exactly what I'm looking for and you really aren't too far from me (I'm in Kansas City).

Just bite the bullet and get the Odyssey. Plenty of room in back, and still gets 28 mpg.

Besides hondata will probably have a flash for it before they have one for the '11 & '12 tsx.

I would really like to have a smaller more fuel efficient car for my daily, but I also want it to be fun and eye catching.

I have not tried these yet, just not that impressed with the looks. I love the look of the TSX just wish the backseat was bigger.

Not sure the Scion xB is really what you're looking for.

I'd suggest Honda Fit or VW Jetta Sportwagon TDI.

Maybe check out a Clubman or Veloster? They're not exactly big cars, but their half-doors may come in handy and help with ingress and egress.

The Fit is much bigger inside than it looks but not sure if its roomier in the back than the TSX. I would look up the stats.

Is the TSX wagon roomier in the rear?

The Fit's back seat is a little bigger than the TSX's what realy gets us on the TSX is the sloping roof line. The TSX Wagon's rear seats are the same as the sedan.

If you can wait a few months, I think a new Fit is coming. Someone suggested a Mazda 3 and the 14' looks fantastic.

That wheel on your TSX appears to be CDN Aspec wheels. Where did you buy them from? How much did it cost you?

This guy is good at what he does.. and he owns one. His parents picked up a '11? Acura tsx base. 2014 Mazda3 is great

Did you take a look at the CR-V? Tons of room, rear seats move fore and aft, and decent gas mileage.

I have a youngster and a 2011 TSX MT. When your kid moves to a front facing seat, there will be more room. I had a Britax Frontier back there, a behemoth of a seat, with no issues.

Good eye. Yes they are the ASPEC Wheels from Canada. I got them brand new from a member on here for about $1500 shipped including the new tires and TPMS.

After really thinking about it I think I should just keep the TSX and use the Pilot until my little guy gets a little bigger. Maybe I can convince the wife into letting me fix it up some more like some suspension work which I have been dying to do. We will see!

That is a good idea. Both the TSX and Pilot are safe cars and you already own them.

I was just about to pull the trigger when I saw those wheels on sale by ttk5.

I guess you beat me to it

Anyhow those wheels are fantastic looking. If you ever get a chance to sell them, let me know
