Help with buying a new/used tsx

Hi all, thanks for your input in advance

First, I wanted know first if this is a good deal.
2010 40,000 miles v6 tech tsx $25000 sticker price, without bargaining down yet. The car has a clean car fax, dealer said its in great condition. (I know there rarley any concern of power train, I'm more worried abt everything else...speakers/electronics...) I saw this and am tempted to drive the 2 hrs to go see and maybe buy it

My budget is around $25000. I'm lookin for a fairly new tsx with low miles. I plan on keeping this car for at least 10 yrs. I was originally looking for an I4 tech. I want to make sure the car will last, but the v6 and price are really tempting. I could also go for a brand new tsx but the price would def be above budget. The package is something I reall want as well (don't wanna regret it later)

Currently I drive a 1999 cl 2.3 145,000 ( bought at 100,000 4 yrs ago)

Questions...
Better to buy v6 tech with 40000 or I4 tech with 20000miles
How's the price and deal Compared from ur area

Randomly...I've seen mixed c
Any probs that ppl are aware of with 2009 steering?
Is the extra warrant twi

I suggest to going and test driving both V6 and I4 and then decide which one you like better

I recently stepped up from a 1998 Acura CL 2.3 to a 2012 Acura TSX I4.

As far as the I4 vs. V6 - one of my priorities was a manual transmission - so the V6 was not a consideration for me. As far as power, luxury and comfort goes, the 2012 TSX is lightyears ahead of my 1998 CL 2.3.

I actually started out looking for a good used TSX - however there were very few available in my area. Acura's exceptional lease rate of .25% combined with not having to fork out the cash for a good used vehicle helped to sway my decision. Please note that leasing is not for everyone.

I am confident that my new 2012 TSX will be as reliable as my 2000 TL 3.2 ... and hopefully just a bit more fun to drive.

Good luck with your decision.

I'm going to test drive the v6 on Tuesday. My concern was more so for the miles, and then having problems down the road. I drove the I4 and it was def a step up from what I have now.

thanks

If you're young and need a power car, I suggest you go with the V6. I don't know about the CL you have but coming off the Accord LX V6, my TSX I4 AUTO is kind of weak.
If you plan to stick with it for good 10 years, do spend a little more to get what you love rather than feeling pity later. But again, do test drive, multiple times if needed.

imo, if you don't mind a manual trans, I'd wait to see how the ilx stacks up. Or at least wait for the chicago auto show to see/read about the specs. If you prefer the auto, then skip the ilx....the 155 hp 2liter motor will be lethargic, at best

I def planed on an auto, this the ilx would be underpowered.

Anyway, I just bought a 2010 V6 tech black on black, certified! Only had 6,500 miles! Theyre gonna touch up a few hairline scratches and I should have it by this weekend.... Can't wait!

Thanks for the input

Also, I got the extended warranty, bumper to bumper 8yrs/100,000

Still debating whether I should keep it or return it. It was $1300 more.

That should be rock and sweet.
Scratches are minor, very minor.
Hope you enjoy it and don't drive it too fast

dont get extended warranty. you can always buy a warranty until the car is 4 or 5 years old or has 50K miles. but if you get rid of the car or something, they wont return any of the 1300. and you dont need it while you have the regular warranty

That's partially incorrect. While you can buy an extended warranty at any time up to warranty expiration, the price does go up. In addition, it is refundable as it is probably-rated.

There is a Honda dealer online that sells the extended warranties at cost (search for Honda warranty. The dealers name starts with an see and has a lot of c's in it.

I'll have to look into the warranty more. I found that the price does go up to about $2000 if I buy it later in a few years. But I may just keep it for peace of mind down the road.

Oh and one problem I did notice with many pre owned cars. The leather was wearing out a good amount already. Read on these forums it's common and use protectant...

That was supposed to be "pro-rated"

I upgraded to 2.0 on my Blackberry Playbook. Part of that software upgrade is a really handy predictive text feature that figures out what your next word will be (or completes the current word) and selects it. Sometimes it picks wrong and the pro turned into probably and I missed that - sorry.

I just got 6/120k $0 deductible Acura warranty from Saccucci for $1135 - the dealers cost. If I sell the car before the manufacturer's warranty expires I get a large chunk of that back. My wife got about 60% of hers back when we sold her Civic (3/36 Honda warranty) with the same 6/120 extended warranty.
