Glad I had a spare tire!

I was on my way home last night when low tire light came on. I checked MID and showed left rear tire having 16 Lbs next reading was 11 Lbs then 7 Lbs . I was a street away from home and i knew it was not good news for tire . I pulled over tire was compleatly flat. Im am glad that my 2012 TSX came with spare tire and not air compressor and fix a flat as side wall had hole in it. I changed tire with temp spare and was back on road in 15 minutes. If i had one of the new cars that did not have spare i would have had to have car towed as no amount of fix a flat would have helped! Bottom line do not leave home with out spare tire! New tire is going to cost 220.00 ouch. Now I have to buy expensive OE tire.

Lucky you

My 2012 tsx has no spare

I like to take risks with my life and live dangerously

Just did a 3800 mile trip through the wild north west USA
With no spare

Lack of spare doesn't bother me since I wouldn't change a tire anyway. I have AAA and I've never had to wait more than an hour for them to arrive, no matter what time I've called them. I have the AAA Plus plan with up to 100 mile tows.

That's good to hear OP. I can understand some people like to be a bit more old fashioned and take care of business themselves. I currently have no roadside assistance plan, so I keep my spare tire under the trunk at all times.

However, my car is lowered and I haven't even tested if the scissor jack will work with a deflated tire

Last time I waited for AAA for a tow (starter died) it took them about 3 hours! and I wasn't in a desolated area, actually I was less than 5 miles from the dealership :/

Especially if you are on the freeway or it's storming or in a bad neighbhorhood. If there is one reason to have a cell phone it's for roadside help.

Love it

I used it on my Lexus recently
Had a flat
A guy came on a truck
Changed tire
While I waited

Why get dirty when someone else can do it

Of course if I had hre and was at home I would do it myself

Given that most housewives are better looking and richer than most of the forum , I would love to be a housewife anyday than be a joe working schlub

New tire cost 201.00 at Costco . Plus 15.00 to mount and balance. I guess I would rather have a spare in my car than not . AAA and roadside assistance are nice but sometimes you have to wait for hours and changing your own tire is only way your going to go anywhere . JMOP

Just go with newer tech, run flat tires. Problem solved.
