Finally finished my DRL led mod.

I never liked the stock DRL setup on our cars so I did my own thing. The only thing that bothers me about the new setup is how they look when they are off but besides that, I'm happy. I will be wiring them to only turn on when the e-brake is down. For now they are on with ignition. Some pics.

That's pretty cool, and very bright. I think it looks okay when off since the yellow matches your fogs/high beams. Good job

looks good but I found pulling the DRL fuse was much easier and cost effective.

You didn't like how the stock DRL's looked, i.e. high beams on reduced brightness, simple fix, pull the DRL fuse, the lights don't come on anymore and there is no DRL warning light either.

Oh ok. I'm in a state that not having drl when your car has it from factory can be mean getting sued by someone if in a motor vehicle accident.
I had to have a drl one way or another.

i live in new Jersey were there isn't even an inspection to check that a car is safe. you can have bald tires, no brakes, but as long as it passes emissions and there is a windshield to stick the striker to, you are good to go.

Inspection is a joke. I'm talking about lawyers that would love to use that as an excuse. Disabling any type of safety feature in your car is leaving you exposed.

if you are in an accident, and the driver says wow there were these bright yellowish lights that blinded me, then you will be sued for tampering with the feature that originally came with the car. Catch 22 right there.

No I posted to say hey if someone doesn't want to go through all that trouble there was another option, since it had been asked before. Your response of "what does that even mean" was the part that was dickish. Also to just inform you that your logic as to why you have to have DRL's either way, could get you in the same predicament that you suggested by not having any at all.

The internet is fun. Always has been. Always will be. I even complimented the way it looked, just was adding another option. But was told to get lost, my internet feelings are quite hurt. Still recovering.

Let's bury the internet hatchet and shake IP addresses?

Not really all that difficult. Just drill some holes, install the LEDs and then wire them up to your preferred source.

THanks.

So the part where there is yellow film and the rest of the headlight, is it VERY noticeable, closeup?

I just put the film over that part. That's all. I went with the line of the high beam reflector.
It's barely noticeable. Racing companies do it all the time to their cars.

eBay flush mount LEDs. I used the same ones for the puddle light mod on the side mirrors. Very bright

i've been thinking of a led drl mod but haven't found a solution that i'm happy with. Yours looks nice but like you said i'm not a fan of how it looks while it's turned off. Maybe you can spray or tint over it to make them more stealth?

I was actually going to experiment on that. I do have some leftover tail light tint spray, im just worried that its going to cut the brightness in half.
Ill try it when I have time.
