i had the same issue. i think you can shave off part of the plastic edge on the light to get it in but i just found a way to wedge it in with the contact points still touching and it's been fine.

Lol wow okay thanks for the help guys. Also - I blew the fuse at the courtesy lights by the rear passenger door. Do you guys know if this repair is covered by warranty?

Why should that be covered by warranty? You blew it (the fuse) when you modded the lights. You pay to play.

If you don't want to change the fuse yourself then you'll have to pay the dealer to do it.

Changing a fuse is extremely basic. If you need the warranty to fix that then you might want to reconsider modding your tsx.

now disconnect the negative terminal next time BEFORE you touch anything electrical. i would suspect 3 or 4 visits for fuse replacements and they MAY start to ask questions.

For the future, fuses are pretty much free:

Save time and gas and diy. There is a fuse remover tool (and a few extra fuses) in the fuse box under the hood. Looks similar to this:

No it isn't. You hid the fact that you modded the car - thereby causing the fault - and technically you committed warranty fraud. No "ifs" "ands" or "buts" about it.

While this was probably just a minor repair that took almost no time, the concept that it is OK to hide your role in causing the damage is not minor. It is that mindset that causes dealers to clamp down on warranty repairs and deny legitimate claims if they look the least bit iffy.

If I were you I wouldn't go bragging about it.

Warranty repairs are to correct that the manufacturer is responsible for. In this case you broke it and you should pay for it.

But isn't it much more fun to commit warranty fraud?
