everyone, seriously, everyone slams my doors. why? WHY?

every passenger that i transport likes to slam my doors. they all get out, stretch for a second (if they're in the back seat), and seemingly wind up and swing the door shut as if they were trying to swing a tennis racket, complete with follow through. it's as if the ride was unacceptable and they are all punishing the car or something.

why? WHY? a 3 year old could close the door with like 3 pounds of force. everyone seems to think that these doors weigh 600 pounds each and therefore, they close them with some sort of Herculian effort.

i'm thinking of putting a sticker on the windows with instructions on how to not treat my TSX like a piece of sh*t. anyone interested?

I know exactly how you feel. After the first week of owning my car and watching everybody slam it, I just said screw it, I'll tell them before it happens, and usually that does the trick. If people know you care about your car seriously, they'll respect it.

However there are still some ignorant bad apples (read: my little brother) that have been kicked out of the car for not listening to me when in my car. 3 strikes and you're out.

Best of luck in your future of softly closed doors, OP.

I've noticed that too lol...people tend to apply more force while shutting doors on newer cars for some reason...

I just don't take any passengers! lol Then I don't have to think about anyone doing anything to my car, including cleaning up after their messes!

Just a guess but maybe they can't wait to get out of your car.

I slam these doors also cuz my last car CL-S took some force to close them.. I guess cuz it was a coupe and the door was longer and heavier so I slam the crap out of my doors!

LMAO!!!!! They're freakin idiots bro... Especially the women that come in and out of my car... Like they're embarrassed that if it doesn't close right, they'll look stupid reopening the door and trying to close it again.

Anyways... I'm real happy with the sound closing of my doors. It has that luxury sound to it, unlike my old civic that just sounded like cheap metal and plastic slamming against one another. It has the "OUMPH" sound.

Haha, this is classic Sometimes people just don't realize that they are slamming too much, but as you are inside in a closed area and the door causing some pressure it is very annoying, I have been there

Because of that I am closing others car's doors super-carefully

Some people might be used to heavier doors. I have the opposite problem with my boyfriend's car. I'm so used to my TSX's light doors that I have trouble closing his Avalon's, which seem ridiculously heavy compared to mine. A lot of times, I have to do it twice because it doesn't close the first time I try.

I'm very anal about my car.

I give people a rundown everytime they enter the car...

1. Don't crush my side bolsters(I teach people how to properly sit down in the seat haha)

2. Don't slam my doors

3. Don't put your hands on the windows or windshield when they're fogged up

4. Don't mess with my radio

5. Don't close the window and then click the button two more times...it's CLOSED.

There's many, many more. But for the sake of brevity, I'll leave it here haha.

As a result of these strict guidelines...people often don't ride with me

I've given up on telling people the rules of my car, so I just typed them out. Originally I had 50, but my friends have come up with so many new ways to abuse my car that it's now a crumpled piece of mess with more scribbled insertions than a law textbook.

http://media.photobucket.com/image/s..._brief.jpg?o=3

That picture pretty much sums up the entire rules booklet.

Let's set the WABAC to about four years ago. I just bought my '06 TSX, and proud of my new toy, I offered to drive a few of my coworkers to lunch (we usually went out and rotated driving duty). One of my coworkers was not what you'd call the most socially adept person in the world. He called shotgun and then proceeded to spend most of the short drive criticizing various design choices that Acura made. When we got to the restaurant, he got out, slammed the door, and then said "doors sound cheap".

It took all of my strength not to leave him at the restaurant when we were done eating.

It's kinda hard to get pissed off at one person criticizing your car when pretty much the rest of the world got down on its knees and bowed down to it. I've learned that uneducated opinions have no value, and they no longer bother me.

Haha! I also hate the dual-cone climate control, because if it is cold, every stupid chick set the climate to the MAX setting, and if it is hot, they set the climate to the MIN setting. Of course that the car can do the same itself, and of course they leave their settings forever. I is a constant war in my car with my chicks with the aircon! I thing that sometime a tornado will happen inside my car, because of the temperature differences between my drivers side and the passangers side

lolololol i think the manual says there can only be an actual like 10 degree difference or something like that

My girl does the same thing.. I'm like.. Just set it to what you want it at and wait.. it will get there.. but no she uses the auto feature like a manual feature lolol
sets it to max then when she gets to hot she sets it to min then when she gets to cold she sets it to max again untill I just start hitting the " dual" button to turn it off when shes not paying attention and it goes back to 68 -72 whereever i have it set at on the driver side, and shes never the wiser lololol...

The other day I was like "look" and shes liek " OH MY GOD I HATE YOU! THATS WHY IM COLD!" and I was like.. its been an hour in this car, and you were "cold" and you didn't touch the ecu? I don't believe you....

Its in there head I swear, She also ALWAYS turns on the seat warmer to keep her nice ass nice and warm, summer, spring, fall, winter .. doesn't matter seat warmer is on.

Lol my radio is one thing i'm not anal about because I want my passenger to be so preoccupied with figuring out how to find a song they like on my ipod that they don't explore the rest of my car, or start rubbing the seat cause it feels good and smells good, and I correct on the spot, if they use there foot to open my door I say something firm.. never happens again, my biggest issue isn't slamming of the door, cause I feel everyone knows how much I care about my car just by looking at it, its slamming the trunk.. Everyone feels like they need to be effin hercules to get the damn trunk to close.. and I'm always yelling at people I give a ride to the airport or some shit, just push it down it will close I promise.. I think my biggest issue is rear seat passengers kicking my door to get out, since the vehicle is so low people feel like the door is harder to open.. so they kick it? I don't get it.. Or the front seat everyone drags there feet across the black part right before the running board and you can see the scrape marks.. I'm even guilty of that so I can't even bitch

I still bitch at others for doing it though when I see it.

HAHAHAHA This is EXACTLY like me But my other car has no "dual" button, so I have to correct the temperature on her side, and this took much more skill to do to be not spotted lol.

i dont have the problem with slamming doors but the trunk is a different story. And when someone slams the trunk, you can feel it inside the cabin.

Most of my passengers don't mess with my climate control, it's usually off anyways. Only in the coldest of winters, or when the windshield's fogged do I turn it on. My idiot of a brother likes to leave the seat heater on HI all the time, I just switch it off about five minutes into the ride and he doesn't notice. As far as radio controls, I wish there was a lockout so that only the driver can control the radio from the steering wheel, sort of like a window lockout.

I don't have any scratches on my side sills yet, but it still pisses me off when people drag their feet along. Would it take so much energy to lift up your foot ONE INCH to clear the sill and save me the pain and money of getting rid of the scratches down there?

And in the winter, people decide to kick the side sills when getting in to get rid of the snow on their feet. I'd rather have snow on my mats (they're there for a reason) than dents on my car, please, thank you, or GTFO.

My trunk is very light so I'll let people know, or I'll just do it myself, and disguise it as being generous and helping them with their cargo.
