Do you use license plate holders?

If so, what kind? those that came with the dealer or your own custom ones?

I have used the black frame with integrated clear cover from MacNeil Automotive for several years now. It looks slick on a black car. They do turn slightly yellow after about 2 years though (didn't notice it until I tried using an old on a white car and it was much more obvious then). Overall love them!

Front one is the dealer thing, the rear is my alumni plate. When I get my masters, that will go on the back, the bachelors in the front.

I like to collect Acura dealers plates whenever I visit a different place, hence Pflueger Acura which became Acura of Honolulu in the front, and Karen Radley Acura from Woodbridge, VA in the back.

I had my plate holder removed by the inspector on day 1.
In MA, there's rule which not enforced about plate holder. If the holder covers a slightly part of the number, the month and especially the decal, it is ILLEGAL and you can be pulled over and given ticket. As I said, it hasn't been strickly enforced but rule is rule and I don't want to be pull over for that stupid reason.

^That sounds a bit extreme. Crazy. I thought it was bad here in Cali. I use to have the clear cover on my previous cars but here this counts as "obstructing" the plate numbers and illegal. (even if they're clear)

I just rock the the dealer frames now. 'Sunnyvale Acura' since purchase.

Holder with my company name on it. Waiting for vanity plates to complete the effect. I originally had the dealer frames (as a compromise for no decals ever placed on the car).

same thing for NC-$100.00 fine-Luckily the plate frames on my car are legal. (North Carolina and the reg. date stickers can be seen clearly)

lol. I don't think those are worth the price. Kinda pointless IMO.

heck even a thin plain black frame on Amazon.com costs ridiculously high.

I would love a thin black one for front and back or at least just front but they are too expensive for their purpose. I just put dealer on the back and naked on the front cause the stock place for it gives it a nice black rim around

I don't use license plate frames on my car. Just the plates themselves. As soon as I get a new car the first thing I do after getting it home is remove the dealer frames. If they want me to serve as a roving advertising billboard for their business I expect to be compensated.

Bought plain black ones at WalMart for $8 each. I don't advertise for free, so I told the dealer not to give me one unless he was giving me free gas for advertising. :p
