That deposit is FULLY REFUNDABLE...
I really WANT the car... I do not NEED the car... my current 05 TSX only has 45k miles on her so believe me gentlemen when I tell you that I will NOT be paying MSRP.
If the dealership thinks they will sell it to me at sticker they are dreaming and someone else is welcome to it...
I may try to work out a deal for the underbody kit and then I could see it creeping up towards 32.
I'm just excited to have the first crack at one in my color choice.

I thought the 09's don't have that option, only full front and rear bumper replacements. CMIIW.

I don't think there is a lip kit option. Instead this time you have to replace the whole front and rear bumper but the side skirts I'm assuming is an add-on.

That is correct so yeah, i guess its not considered an underbody kit.
Also, word is that it is being released next Friday even though everything I've heard pointed to the 24th.

where are you getting TL-S wheels from? I've never modded a car in my life (including wheels), but I saw someone's TSX with TL wheels several months ago and fell in love.
I'll probably be buying an '09 in December.

My dad actually bought a TL-S and wanted the 18" Aspec wheels so I took them off his hands... they are currently on my Carbon Grey 05

I called a few area dealers (Pohanka, Radley, and Karen Radley for those in DC area), and at least one of those dealers asked me if I'd like to put a $1000 deposit down. I passed without thinking much about it, but if it's fully refundable I don't see the issue, other than it tying me to a particular dealership. What I could do is put a deposit down at all three dealerships, then work out a deal with one of em, and get my deposits back from the other two...
But I guess all that would be doing is guaranteeing me first pick for colors, etc??

The local dealership here in Tucson, AZ got one in today and I took a look. Many have said that pictures of it don't do it justice and I completely agree. The grill looks way bigger in pictures than it actually is and I LOVE the interior. You're getting the exact same package that I will probably be ordering next month. I was worried about how it looked but seeing it in person made up my mind. The wheels look much better in person as well.

My reasoning for putting money down was to make sure I could get one in my area (DC) in a 6spd MT w/ Tech... traditionally this area gets very few MT and so usually unless thy are bringing the car from a far far away dealership... you kind of just have to take what they've got
This way I am assured that I will get my color choice with all the trimmings...
Also -- I just test drove the Accord Coupe yesterday fully loaded with the 6MT 268 ponies and honestly... now I have a tough decision to make... I am thinking 4 doors and Acura style will win the day, but its hard to forget the balls to the wall power the new Accord offers.
Thoughts?

Tough decision. Are you planning on keeping the vehicle long? If so, Acura's longer warranty is a benefit (then again you could get an extended warranty on the Honda). Is fuel economy a priority? How about things like HID headlights, a superior audio system, a quieter interior, or generally higher-grade interior materials? (From everything I've read the TSX interior seems a bit nicer than the Accord, even though they look very similar in pics)
They are both fine choices. I think most people would go with the more powerful V6 Accord EX-L w/ NAV over the similarly-priced TSX w/ Tech. My better half currently drives a Mitsubishi Outlander CUV and is looking to get into something a bit smaller, more nimble, and more fuel-efficient. With that criteria in mind, the TSX fits our wants/needs more than the Accord Sedan. We really LOVE the Accord Coupe, but like the convenience of having 4-doors. It's a tough call! I would drive the two back to back and get whichever one "feels" right. A car is more than acceleration figures! Good luck.
