cu2 wood kit

I'm thinking about getting some euro stuff from lings in the UK

So I was thinking of getting a wood kit too just to check it out

But the sucky thing is if I don't end up using it would anyone be interested in buying it? it's a little over $700

it has
4 dash pieces
4 door switch trim pieces
1 steering wheel trim
1 shift knob for manual tranny

I would be interested in only the shift knob as long as its not crazy expensive and deemed comfortable.

It's probably paper covered with epoxy. At least that's what it was for the "Firehorse" wood trim in the 1st Gen TSX. I think the wood trim would look better in the Parchment interior, and wish it would cover the cupholder cover.

I did install the wood trim on my 08 TSX (PWP over Parchment), which was a U.S. option at the time. It really transformed the interior into a luxury look.

In the photo, I do like the recessed lighting in the center console passenger cubby. Or is that just a trick of the lighting?

I hate wood trim. Wood trim is the worst.

I think there is an oem accessory kit to add lights in there. I added my own LEDs and I think it was a great addition.

Actually those are on the accesory list. The only lights that come stock are the ones upfront inside the footwell area.

Please stay away from those. The previous ( pre 2011 ) Accord euro exectuve came with these wood trims. Altough they seem nice in the pics in real life they look like cheap plastic covers. IMO they don't flow with the rest of the interior.

Doesn't count if it's 100% plastic.

Honda woodgrain is faux - I've seen it peel in an Accord before. I don't think many mainstream manufacturers use real wood in anything but their flagships with the exception of Lexus.

Most (all?) European manufacturers use wood veneer over a plastic or composite base that is then clear coated.

Crashworthiness requirements no longer allow for any solid wood products in dash trim (with a few exceptions) so everything from Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Lexus etc is wood veneer.

Acura uses a mix of real wood veneer and plastics but I don't know what this is made of.
