Considering 14 TSX

Well right now I'm on edge whether I should get a 14 TSX or the new TLX i4.

The dealers in my area fairly large area raleigh nc are asking for 32k out the door, which seems a bit high considering I can get a TLX for 36.5. Both have Tech packages.

I haven't been able to find many threads about TLX vs. TSX there are some obvious differences in the motors and trannys of the two cars. I have driven both cars they both ride nice, but I'm a bit unsure about the 32k price seems kind of high considering the TLX isn't much more.

Any thoughts on how the two cars compare and whether its worth it to bite the bullet and jump up to the TLX in a few months when the price and hype settles down a bit?

the TLX has a much better drivetrain.... Don't get stuck with the ancient 5AT in the TSX. (unless you go for the 6mt)

Consider it, then buy the TLX.

i will be the skip bayless here.

go for the TSX. you should not buy a car to hold the title of one of the first TLX owners on the acurazine forums. HP on both cars are basically the same.
also having outdated technology makes you cool. you can go around saying "the tiny window showing climate control and such is vintage"

on a serious note. get the TLX

How long has TLX been at the US dealers? Not yet at my dealership here in Winnipeg.

they're slowly showing up in Ontario dealerships. call your local dealerships to see if they have an ETA.

No i4's that i know of yet. Im pretty sure the raleigh and charlotte dealerships are getting them end of this week beginning of next week. I know a guy at another dealer who told me hes getting a white i4 with tech end of next week. So far i havent heard of any other colors around here. Most of the dealers have several v6s though.

Id assume they'll be much more available in a few weeks so either way id be waiting for a few weeks until they're a little more plentiful. Considering either black a pain to maintain or blue.

Unless there's something special about the TSX that pulls at you (such as if you wanted a wagon), I would definitely go with the TLX. The times that I got a TSX as a loaner car, it was a substantial downgrade from the TL (structure solidity, engine power and smoothness, interior quality, noise, refinement, you name it...). If the TLX is a better TL, then there is no competition between the TSX and TLX.

My local Calgary dealer has a I4 Tech and a V6 FWD Elite. Winnipeg should be getting it in the next few days.

I just recently purchased a 12' CPO with tech (the dealership received their first shipment when I bought the TSX). I was going to buy the TLX at the end or beginning of next year, but I had to purchase a vehicle due to my current vehicle being totaled.

I was really considering buying a new TLX I4 tech, but the CPO TSX was such a great deal to pass up. I plan on only keeping the TSX for a year or so, by then there should be CPO TLX available.

The TSX tech doesn't feel outdated for me, the only thing that stands out to me is the push button start, but that wasn't a factor for me. If you can wait, I would wait until CPO are available at great deals.

Acura has not updated the TSX since 2011. I would not buy the TSX for 32K , tech package or not. If have to buy absolutely new go for the TLX, it has so many updated features. if you want a great deal on a used car go for the TSX. I saw two demo models from 2013 with less than 4000 miles and they were only asking for $23,500

Unless you want 6MT -- which presumably you don't b/c you'd get the Tech. package in the TSX -- or the TLX is too big for whatever reason, get the TLX. The TSX is great, but from everything I'm reading the TLX is a significant upgrade, and the new engine with DCT will blow away the TSX 5AT drivetrain.

This. Why would you buy a new TSX when you can get a used one with really low mileage for much cheaper. Doesn't make much sense unless you HAVE to own a new one.

TSX is made in Japan. They are very different. Drive both and you will know immediately which you like better.

Wait what? You want the IS250, but then say it's worse than the TSX?

If you are buying new, TLX. No question. Buying a new car when you know it is discontinued is shooting yourself in the foot. If you are concerned about saving money, wait a few months and buy a used TSX. Maybe even wait until spring.

The price of a new 14 TSX tech is in the same neighborhood as a:
- +12 TL with sh-awd
- +13 Audi A4
- +13 3 series
- +11 G37
- +12 IS 350
- +13 IS 250

This could be your time to have a little fun for 1-2 years and give the TLX a little time to work the bugs out. The 14 TSX is maxed out on improvements; while the TLX will only get better for the next 3-4 years (depends on the time you have and your $$$ situation).

I think I'm done with Acura, I want to try some other brands such Lexus or BMW. But if I have to go with Acura again, it would be TLX.
