Cd player
Can anyone tell me if there should be power to the CD player without having the key in the ignition? I can put a cd in the player and eject it without the key in the ignition... is this normal? I’m trying to trouble shoot the dreaded parasitic battery drain.... when I open the doors it sounds like the mechanism of the cd is churning. The CD player works .... but I don’t think I should hear that noise... sometimes when it’s cold and I leave the car overnight that noise is quite load, it last 10 seconds or so and the stops.... if I open the door again, I will again hear something churning but it very faint...
I have a 2011 TSX w/ NAV.... is there a fuse that controls the cd ? I can’t find one.... Anyone have any ideas or suggestions?
thx

Thank you.... did not know the CD player would work without the key in the ignition.... then the noise I’m hearing might be something else coming from the radio area .... it sounds like a vacuum hose leak ... hard to describe.... I’ve videoed the noise which I wish I could post on this site but don’t know how to xfer that from my phone.. have .any ideas on the parasitic Battery drain... on the gen 1s they said it was blue tooth module but I disconnected it and it made no difference... someone mention the HVAC but I have no idea how to check that ... if there was a fuse for it I could pull it to see if the battery stops dying.

Thx for the reply.... the sound is quite loud when it’s very cold.... it actually sounds like a vacuum high tone squealing which as you say only last like 5-10 seconds... but during the warmer months I don’t hear that loud noise.... no that you say the cd comes alive when the door is open the sound must be happening during the warm months too but I never noticed because it’s quiet.. it’s just during the winter months the sound is very noticeable.

Thx for the reply... I’m not very good with using a multi meter so I need to figure out how to use it to figure out what the draw is... I’ve seen a few YouTube videos and I know I need to keep the doors and hood open to get to the fuse boxes but I need to figure out how to keep the switches depressed so the car thinks the doors and hood are closed so the car can go into sleep mode... unfortunately, I don’t see those door or hood switches like in the older cars.... any idea where those would be?

See this post from 2019 for what my car does CD NOISE with little videos showing the noise. No one responded to my post a couple years ago. The car does this still, every time I open the door and start it. The car didn't do this when it was newer, it just started around 2018. CD player and HDD still work, I've not noticed anything that doesn't work and the noise hasn't gotten any worse. I've never had any battery drain though.

The car was doing that from NEW! It is the FANs at the back of the radio you are hearing. As the vehicle gets older and dust accumulates, the fans will get louder. Also at lower temperatures it will make more nose.

Did anyone notice that Acura Canada now changed the estimated selling price of the TLX Type S on their website? Now the sentence reads, "Estimated Selling Price around $60,000*"
*Estimated Selling Price includes freight, PDI, levies & fees. Applicable taxes, license and registration are extra. Final pricing will be confirmed closer to launch and may be slightly higher or lower.
Isn't it so dumb that they do this??? If you can't make up your mind, don't put it on the website yet!!! Once you put it on, then don't change it!!!!!!!! So dumb....

I finally was able to put a meter on my car to test the draw... it appears I have a constant draw of .25 amps... I let the car go to sleep for two hrs then checked with the multimeter... before I start pulling fuses I’d like to disconnect the HFL module... u have any idea where it is for a 2011 tsx.it’s not behind the passenger kick panel.
