Carbon Tint?

Now that it's getting hotter here in Atlanta, I would like to get my windows tinted. I've called a few reputable places around the metro-Atlanta area and have received quotes ranging from $180 to $350 for various tints.

I'm having a hard time trying to decide on which type of material to go with (dyed, metallic, ceramic, and carbon). I've never heard of Carbon tint. Is it any good? How does it compare to ceramic?

I've received a quote of $300 for the Carbon and $350 for Pinnacle Ceramic from different vendors. I need help deciding. Thanks.

Let me know what and where you decide on and post pix afterwards. I'm also in Atlanta and was thinking about tints but i'm new to the city and don't know any reputable tint shops.

You might want to try posting in the Regions section (see tab up top). You can get some suggestions there for your area.

I'm in ATL and love my tints. I paid $229 for all 4 windows and rear windshield (lifetime warranty)

Hot Spot Tinting

Marietta, GA

Had a young kid do mine and he did a sweet job. Talked shop w/ him while he did them. Takes 2 hrs. I did 35% regular, which the shop encourages for legal reasons - not a big fan of the "other" types of tints. Stay away from tint w/ metal in it too... has the potential to interfere with electronics as it did in my '03 Maxima...

Hot spot uses LLumar tint film.

A-men to that. One of my friends has an 08 TL-S with the metallic tint and it interfered with his Nav system to the point it would show you driving through a lake while cruising down the highway.

Also, when tinting various cars my tint guy uses commercial tint used for buildings when he tints a car.

I recently got non metallic 35% all around on my PWP TSX, the main difference between ceramic and regular tint paper is that ceramic holds out more heat, about 40% more and has a shiny look to it, while the regular tint has a matte finish. I have never reallyl heard of carbon tint.
