Bye Bye TSX

Sold it this morning and bought a G37 coupe to replace it. I generally liked the car, but the lack of power really diminished the fun factor.

Anyone looking for a clean, black, 09 TSX with technology package - check out San Diego Carmax. They gave me $24,000, so don't let them make too much off you.

Before we bought the 04 Z, I never owned a foreign car in my life. I don't feel any great brand loyalty, they just seem to be making the cars I want right now.

i'd find the TSX sluggish too if i owned a GTR.

congrats on the G37. theyre very sweet cars. that was on my list of cars i was going to get when i got my TSX. It got ruled out when I realized i couldn't afford a g37 coupe.

still love my tsx though.

next car is definitely gonna be an m3. but thats in 3 years... lol

that explains the ballin out of control. The world of IT services, you would think it'd be flooded by now, but there are so many companies still in the dark ages in their business processes.

Closer to the original topic, do you find it weird that you now have two coupes and no sedans? I was looking into buying a g35 coupe when I first picked up my TSX, but i needed the versatility that a sedan with fold down seats gave. Now i regret not getting something even more functional like a hatchback since I bike and snowboard so much.

We have 3 coupes and no sedans now. For the few times that we need something bigger - I'll go rent something. I decided I didn't want to compromise my day to day fun for a few day a year inconvenience.

2 maxed out 401k's. I'd do a Roth IRA, but we make over the government limit to contribute. $1500/mo goes into regular savings also.

I recommend going to carmax first and getting a 7 day quote. Now you have something to negotiate with at the dealerships. In my case, the dealers wouldn't touch the carmax price, so I sold it to carmax.

One thing I've noticed is the notion that the TSX is technologically superior is a myth. The things I've noticed so far is:
  • Hard Drive based Navi boots almost instantly
  • Backup camera has guiding lines that move with your front wheel
  • Bluetooth integration is superior
  • Power adjustable steering column
  • Memory buttons control not only the seat position, but also outside mirrors and steering column
  • Superior sounding premium audio system

I realize list prices were $13,000 a part, so maybe the TSX is technologically superior to cars in its price range.

man im really considering trading in my tsx too, ive had it since last june, and its just too slow. Its ok if your just driving around town, but with the AC on, there is NO passing power over 30-40mph.

Thinking about getting a NEW 2008 Evo X? I wonder how much i could get for my Base? 23k?

Nice write up, is the size from the drivers seat the same or is the G tighter?

I would say a little tighter, but I'm a big guy and very comfortable. The coupe has more seat travel than any other car I've driven - it is the first car that I don't instantly put the seat all the way back.

how is comfort/queitness compared to TSX. 24K is alot of miles in a year. TSX has gas mileas advantage. I bet depreciaiton advantage.
TSX dont have superior technology but acceptable technology for the price.

Quieter than the TSX. Seat is more adjustable with the inflatable sides in the seat bottom and top that will "hug" you when you want to do some aggressive driving.

Almost all those miles were reimbursable through work, so it wasn't much of a hit to my wallet.
