Bought A 2012 Special Edition Today

First time Acura owner, looking forward to checkout things out. Bought a 12 SE today, that was a loaner car, so its never been titled and only has 8,000 miles on it and got it certified with bumper to bumper warranty to 100,000 miles! Price was 26,900, so I felt pretty good about it.

Traded in my 4Runner after only two years, just not a comfortable auto and terrible gas mileage.

Before that I had a Volvo S60R, which I loved!

Anyway, hope this is an active forum, look forward to learning about these things.

Congrats on the new SE. I have a Milano red se and love it. Wish I had remained patient for the MT, but I love my auto too.

Yeah it was a fun car, but extremely expensive to maintain and repair.

Ha, that sucks! The R was a fantastic car, easily the most comfortable car I've ever had, but the mechanical issues are just too much.

engine wise, they're alright (ok ok, engine ping) but nothing mechanically serious with the 09's.

This is why you never get the first year model of anything!

i would've stayed away from a loaner car. people beat the shit out of them and the dealership most likely doesn't maintain them on a timely basis. for instance, the v6 loaner i had was 2k miles over it's oil change due date.

Yeah, I can see that line of thinking, but I also can see where they do all the maintenance on them in a timely manner, since they are the dealer's car. Anyway, it only has 8,000 miles on it, so I can't imagine there have been more than one service.

Anyway, here are a few quick cell phone shots after a quick bath this weekend. I'm trying to get a detail scheduled ASAP, the one thing the deal is REALLY bad at is washing it right and you can clearly see that's the case with this one. Needs a full polish and I don't have time right now, so it's going into a guy I trust.

And, the old R, right after I lowered it a bit.

One last one that didn't get posted. Tough day, with the sun shining in, I'll try to get some better ones after it's detailed.

Congrats and I wouldn't worry about the 8,000 miles myself. You got a good discount for it and 100,000 mile warranty.

Yeah, I rescued the damned thing from my window well when she just had her eyes open. I had to give her to a "surrogate mom" to nurse her until she was old enough to come live with us. She's a pain in the butt and not the nicest thing in the world either! I had to put my last Husky down last October, so she was the only pet and she got spoiled. We recently got an Aussie pup and she's mean as sh*t to it! She constantly harasses it and hisses at it and sneak attacks her when she's not looking! She also has a habit of getting on the vehicles, which will have to stop now that I have another black car!

Great car and really nice deal. I came over from a Volvo S60 AWD 2.5T and although it had good power it was a pain. High maintencance costs, the wheels rubbed the inside of the wells and wore down fast and the gas mileage was bad. The TSX was a nice change with great standard options, great gas mileage, and reliability (I hope). Wish I got the SE!

The S60 was a fun car and the Sonic blue was really rare, so that was cool. But yeah, it had it's drawbacks as well. I was lucky and got one that was basically trouble free, at least once I got out of warranty. But, when I sold it, it had a leak in the radiator. The biggest turn off on the R was the turning radius. It sounds stupid, but it seriously couldn't do a u-turn on a 4 lane road. It was ridiculous, worse to park than any pickup I've ever owned!

Looking forward to this Acura though, I like it.

She sounds like a handful. Sorry about your Husky though. Those are some beautiful dogs. I want one one day.

Yep..the turning radius on my S60 was the last straw for me. I got stuck pulling into a parking garage that was full...had a line of cars backed up behind me and couldn't make a K turn because he damn turning radius was so bad. I think I traded it in the next day 75k miles and 7 yrs old - just sick of it!

Yeah, she's not bad, she's just a cat. She has her moments when she's really sweet.

I got my first Husky in college, then added another once I got out. They are fun dogs, but not for the casual dog owner, they are a major handful if not trained.

They dig, they run, they escape from everything, they kill small animals, they constantly find ways to get out of the yard and run for days (can't stress that enough) and they shed buckets of fur.

But, they are really sweet animals and beautiful dogs.

I was pretty bummed when we had to put our second one down, no doubt. I miss those little turds!

The addition of the Aussie has been fantastic though, what a great dog she is.

The guy that did my detailed did a fantastic job, I'd say he corrected 95% of the dealer's mistakes. Looks much better!
