Blue side mirrors

I've seen a couple of threads on here about people wanting the blue side mirrors and I've actually found a vendor who could get them made for us.
It has to be a min of 50 orders but I think we could get that done.

My question is... Can the tsx mirrors just be replaced with aftermarket ones?
I'm not exactly sure how the heating element works.
Anyone know??

These would be the kind you can stick over your oem ones or pop out and replace and they would run like $60 a set.

hmm sounds interesting. im afraid the blue tint may look hazy though, as defcon and others have experienced.

Defcon tinted his mirror where as these are made and the blue hue is in the glass itself.

I just don't know how the heating element in te mirrors work.
If its like a little hot air vent behind the glass or something, this could work.
If its built in to the glass, it wouldn't.

I believe the defroster is an electric element attached to the back of the glass.

I'd be interested at $60 if they had the defroster. If not then I'm out. Convex is a feature, and the blue tint is cool, as long as its not too blue.

Any chance of a spec mockup so we could get an idea exactly what they would look like?

Ah. Then it won't work.
The ones he sells now are just blue tinted mirrors that you can either stick on to your oem or replace. There won't be any electric work in it.

Dammit.

Probably could ask grafixpressions to do an overlay like what they did for the 8th gen civic, it would be alot easier and cheaper than a whole mirror replacement.

every overlay i have ever seen isnt clear.
even laminx headlight film isnt crystal clear so i doubt this would be.

tinting is prob the best bet unless you wanna ditch the side mirror warmers.
id be in for that since i never use mine but wed need 50 orders.

Tinting probably won't work since the adhesive is on the wrong side as its ment to be applied to the inside. Porsche calls them anti-dazzle mirrors. Hard to tell but they change depending on the light sensed by the center rearview mirror.

problem is my center rearview mirror doesn't dim as i have tint in the rear windshield. that wont help me, maybe if the sensor were on the side mirror

partially or fully cover the sensor on the back of the mirror (the side facing the windshield)

just try it with your finger....then use blk electrical tape to partially cover it.
