*lol* Mr. Colliver should change his name, he gets blanked for obsenities This is great news for Acura and especially for 'us' new TSX owners who have been poopooed on for being so dumb for purchasing such a hideous TSX *laughing* I am proud to be part of those numbers and am prepared to hear all the 'negative' spin and number manipulating argument...Its time to celebrate our TSX is a winner!!
Thanks for posting these facts

I was expecting a drop in this months sales (vs last month) for our store. We ran out of '08s in February so we don't have these to sell. From the release date to the end of May we received 3 batches of cars totaling about 60 TSXs and we sold most of them.
This month we received 8. It becomes a self fulfilling prophesy that if you only have ~18 to sell, you won't sell more than 18 (duh). I have a number or customers on a waiting list for specific color/trim/transmission combos that we don't have in stock.

I predicted that the 2009 would sell the same as the 1st generation since there were no radical changes/improvements. Altho I do believe that last month's sales #s were inflated by leftover 2008s, I think that holds less truth this month & next month I probably would not even consider it anymore.
They are definitely on track to making their 40,000/year target & hopefully sales will only go up once the turbo-diesel hits.

Of course I'm not saying they'll do this. I think we can all agree it would be stupid to do so, but you never know.....

I love the fact that every vehicle that gets reasonably good mileage has shot up in sales (*excepting hybrids) while all the gas guzzlers have seen precipitous drop offs. The Fit sees a 100% increase LOL!
TSX, 1st gen (& I'd bet 2nd gen too), driven nicely, will net +30mpg in 50%/50% driving (at least mine does). "performance, luxury and fuel efficiency"... amen to that!

The interesting thing is that Civic and Corolla hwy mileage it supposed to be 35! I'd take 30 in a TSX over 35 in a Corolla any day and twice on Sunday!

I too would prefer a TSX to the Civic/Corolla, and I have been getting ~35mpg or better highway mileage in the TSX! I bet the Civic would get +40mpg highway if treated right.

I got 363 miles out of my first tank in the tsx, when divided by the gallons of the second tank, it was 22 overall mpg. I looking to get better as the vehicle gets some miles on it. 30 hwy is well within reason

I reset the trip as I started a 100 mile drive from San Diego to LA up the 5.. I kept the car at 72mph on cruise control and at the end of 100 miles it said 34.2mpg.. This is an auto trans 09 TSX that now has 1100 miles on it.
I did a full tank test recently of mixed driving with 2 long highway trips (SD to LA, LA to SD) with mixed driving and rush hour included. I managed 28.1mpg over the 389 miles.

That's because the entire line-up is old.

If I can get 32 in an Accord V6, you can definitely get 35 in a TSX.
Btw, I do hypermile (at least to an extent). I do: stay in the right lane, keep my speed on the freeway around 55-60 instead of 65, time my acceleration and speed so I don't have to break as much, accelerate more slowly, turn my engine off if I know I'm going to be waiting somewhere for a while, use little air conditioning, etc. I do not: draft semis, over-inflate tires, turn my engine off while moving, coast in neutral, etc. I'm sure I would get better mileage if I did those things, but some of them aren't worth the safety or maintenance risk, and some are illegal.

I do have a related quesion, which I am hoping that someone can answer. All the car dealers (at least in our area) are open every day of the week for sales. So, what days of the month do they consider as selling days and which ones they don't. The press release by Honda considered only 24 selling days in June 2008 vs 27 selling days in June 2007, thus quoting the TSX sales per selling day to have increased by 27 percent.

I've done ~125 freeway miles and averaged 42.6 on the MID; I know it's off, but not by over 7mpg.
Once a week I drive from Denver to Boulder, it's a 52 mile round-trip for me. If I fill up the tank in the morning just before getting on the freeway (i.e. so I'm all freeway miles), I get home in the evening with an MID reading 38-42 mpg. I do use hyper-mileage techniques.
Now note I'm not saying I can maintain +35mpg easily or readily when I mix in a lot of city miles...
I would imagine that is why Hondas are selling so well; they are very efficient vehicles. That's one of the reasons I bought the TSX, I knew I could do better than the EPA estimates in a Honda.

According to my $3.00 calculator using 30 days would show only a 10% increase in TSX sales instead of 27.5% and a 44% decrease in LS sales instead of 37%. Would seem a good enough reason to juggle the days.

Weekdays only would result in ~21 days (5 Sundays + 4 Saturdays) I thought Sunday's weren't counted. But that would have resulted in 25 selling days. Was their a holiday in June?

Not for nothing, but I got 36.1mpg strictly highway yesterday from Phila to Newark, DE. I was quite excited. As far as June Acura sales, they can send me a thank-you letter; I bought mine two weeks ago. Best. Car. Ever.

09TSX,
I have the 09 TSX with tech package in Grigio/Taupe. It is simply the most beautiful car I have ever owned, the most stunning interior, and by far the best stereo, in-car or out, that I ever have owned. Mind you, I'm an audiophile/tech geek, so know the 'good stuff.' The people who have nothing but bad things to say about this car - I just don't get it, although we are all entitled to our opinion. My last car was an 06 Accord EX-L, and before that a V6 Malibu. This car really rocks. The DVD-A they give you when you buy the car? I just sit in my car and listen to it in amazement.
Cheers,
Traci
