Battery Replacement

My battery needed a few jumps this past winter, the last of which it couldn't even unlock the door after less than a week's rest.

I was just about to replace it when spring finally arrives and it has been good for the past week. Were any of you in a similar situation?

- Would you wait until the following winter to replace?
- I see a ~$80 Interstate 500 CCA battery at Costo, would this be a good option?

I purchased the exact same battery 3 weeks ago due to the battery showing signs of weakness in colder weather. I am in southern Texas therefore do not see this type of weather often but did not want to deal with the battery failing when I was within a time constraint. Before changing, make sure you have your radio ID number as you will be prompted for this post installing the new battery. My radio number was not in my glove box therefore I had to call Acura who quickly provided.

Thx. Anecdotally, is 500CCA not enough? Bit of a disproportionate price jump to 800, not to mention extra parts heh.

Sudden changes in temperature, both cold and hot, will cause a battery to fail. I guess it's the shock. Sometimes you can charge it and be fine, sometimes not. I prefer to replace it asap so as not to be stranded. The Optima is a fine choice and Interstates are good too. My 4 cyl 2014 shows signs of slowing down so I'll be replacing it soon probably on the cheap side with what ever Auto Zone or Walmart sells.

So if your battery were choking this winter but it's now perfectly fine now that the polar vortex has passed, you'd hold off on a change till next winter right (Except TexasTSX, thx for the tip about the radio #!)?

Just to clarify, you got the V6 battery that's rated for 550 CCA? Upon first read, I thought you got the Optima Red the 1st guy mentioned, which is 700-800 CCA.
