The Baby's Here!!! ^_^

Hello everyone! Well Monday (Oct 3, 2011) My baby girl Rayne (pronounced Rain, some people actually say Rayna), was delivered by emergency cesarean at 1:01pm. She was 6lbs 8oz and 18.5" long. To make things short and sweet, her mothers blood pressure shot up to 160/120, putting them both at risk. She was due on the 22nd, but it was changed to the 10th, which was NEXT Monday. The other day was the last baby appt and she was rushed into surgery. When I went back in the nursery to see her, I heard her cry for the first time and I cried.

Yesterday the pediatrician came in to talk to us to give us the news... He said, "You guys have one fine healthy baby. She's very healthy and I couldn't find anything wrong with her! Congratulations guys!" Man I was relieved. She was ok after the c-section, but I still wanted to know what the pediatrician said.

As for the mother, she was on bp meds 4x daily (500mg). She's doing fine and they are "going" to try and ween her off. I could actually get some sleep now, believe it or not. The baby's a good sleeper and she's on a 2-3 hr schedule. I was worried about her and the baby. It was like anxiety x2! This was a very LONG 9 mos for, as she started to develop pre-eclampsia in the 1-2nd trimester.

But I am VERY excited how things are turning out. And I actually wanted twins. lol I just wanted to share my new experience with the TSX crew, because back when I joined in may THIS was the first part of acurazine I came too (wants a TSX). Hopefully soon I can land my hands on a TSX-SE 6spd.. Mod's hopefully it'll stay here, but I guess it'd be ok to move to the ramblings section. No I'm lying. lol I made the post extra colorful with smileys for my fellow a-ziners. Have a great day, gotta run back up to the hospital to see my little one.

I thought you meant your baby as in your new car. I guess a real baby will have to suffice and yes or gtfo.

Congrats dude!

Congrats! Have you thought about car seat selection? When the little one gets out of the carrier you might want a convertible seat like the Britax Marathon or Sunshine Kids Radian (narrower so you can fit someone in the middle seat).

Thanks everyone! Ya it is a great feeling. I'm kind of protective of her already. I'm not sure if I want to post a pic of her yet, cause usually once it ends up online it's there forever.

And the title is VERY misleading now that I think about it. I was really talking about a baby and not a car. Next time it should be the car. YAY! Thanks for all the best wishes. Also I'm actually use to gettin up with kids. My sisters had babies before me, and I have a younger sister who I've helped raise her little girl from birth up to now. She's going on 16 mos and it's amazing how much they change in the first year. She's walking an runnin around and tryin to repeat words now.

Also I forgot to add, there was another guy and his wife across the hall who had the same exact sized baby as I did. 6lbs 8oz, but was 18.25" compared to Rayne who was 18.5". I wont never forget his son's name: Jacob Ethan.

I changed my mind, here she is. I hope you enjoy the pic as much as I do. It's a really great feeling.

I've actually been looking into that now. Babies grow fast and it's amazing how many different car seats they have. I know this sounds :ghey: but motherproof.com is a good website with a decent amount of info.

Congrats on being a new dad. She's very cute.

Don't worry about the sleep, some babies sleep through the night immediately, while some wakes up every two hours (mine)...

In case you have forgotten from taking care of your niece, new born needs to have their diaper change up to 8 times a day

Thanks very much and you're right they do need quite a few diaper changes. I may sound weird but it doesn't bother me to change a diaper even the bad ones.I just enjoy the whole experience. And yeah she's up and down every 2-3 hrs for her feeding and what not. She's finally up for the boob. The left one was free and I hadn't ate all day and I was like... well since the baby has the right one, can you spare some milk from the left one for me? lol I made the room explode in laughter.

Also I was told by a guy yesterday that breast milk goes good in milkshakes AND with oreo cookies. My family laughed so hard at him. I've never had breast milk so i can't speak from experience.

That's a nice name your nephew has. There's so much goin on in my head that it's overwhelming yet amazing, if that makes sense. But seriously a Recaro car seat sounds like a good idea in the near future.
